message 131: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 449 comments Hello Ashley,
Here are my picks for you I hope you enjoy them. And please let me know if you would like me to do any repicks.

Hot Tamales:
Fury by Laurann Dohner- A cover worth fanning yourself over....
Fury (New Species, #1) by Laurann Dohner
Compromising Positions by Jenna Bayley-Burke- Hmm what’s sexier than a yoga class about the kama sutra. Actually despite the subject matter this book is pretty tame. I wasn’t sure what you comfort level was with Erotica. So to remedy this I have 3 recommendations in this category over my typical two. This one and the first are tamish.
Compromising Positions by Jenna Bayley-Burke
The Perfect Play by Burton, Jaci- This book is a bit more explicit and the cover is to die for.
The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1) by Jaci Burton

Ghirardelli Chocolate:
Captive in the Dark by C.J. Roberts- This book was so intense it gave me a case of Stockholm syndrome.
Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1) by C.J. Roberts
Gabriel's Inferno by Reynard, Sylvain- Another intense book that left me needing a chocolate bar..
Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno, #1) by Sylvain Reynard

Tootsie Pop:
The Silver Linings Playbook by Quick, Matthew- Hmmm so you didn’t have anything that was 6 months old so I decided to go with the oldest which is this one.
The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
Slave by Hayes, Sherri- This book has been on my TBR list for the last 3 years. Want to buddy read it with me?
Slave (Finding Anna #1) by Sherri Hayes

²Ñ&²¹³¾±è;²Ñ’s:
The Bride by Julie Garwood- So I noticed that you didn’t really have any historical romance books and I believe this book is the perfect introduction into the genre. In addition it is written by a wonderful author who I am utterly addicted too.
The Bride (Lairds' Fiancées, #1) by Julie Garwood
Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews- This is the first book in a great series. It is a paranormal a romance series.

Skittles:
Cry Wolf by Briggs, Patricia- So I have never actually read a LGBT book so I had to go with colorful cover instead. Anyways this book is about shifters and the start to a great series.
Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs
The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Allen, Sarah Addison- Her books always leave me happy.
The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups:
The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen- I noticed that you had a few of her books on your TBR list and in my opinion this is the best books she has written.
This Lullaby/The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen- This is one of my favorite books and I always recommend it to people who haven’t read it yet. She also has other great books so if you like this one I suggest you check of The Girl Who Chased the Moon as well.
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen

Twix:
Catching Fire by Collins, Suzanne- You seemed to like the first book. Hopefully you will like the second one as well.
Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins
Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James- Oh Christine...
Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades, #2) by E.L. James

Laffy Taffy:
Rock Chick by Ashley, Kristen- A fun read by one of my favorite authors.
Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley
Talk Me Down by Dahl, Victoria- A nice fluffy read about an erotica author and a sexy cop.
Talk Me Down (Tumble Creek, #1) by Victoria Dahl

message 132: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2657 comments Hi Nichole!
I hope you like the books I chose for you, I tried to pick books from your list that I have some personal experience. I hope you enjoy my recommendations.

1. Hot Tamales:
Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione is hot! This series gets better with each book and Larissa Ione doesn't disappoint with Wraith's book.

2. Ghirardelli Chocolate: Sacrificial Magic (Downside Ghosts, #4) by Stacia Kane was emotional. I love Chess and Terrible. This book was my second favorite in the series, but you will definitely be biting your nails since you can't give Chess and Terrible the hug they so desperately need.

3. Tootsie Pop: Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor, #1) by Jill Shalvis has been on your TBR since Nov. 2011 (as it has also languished on mine). It's time to cross it off the list. I have heard good things about it, I just haven't listened to it yet, so I can't co-sign the praise.

4. ²Ñ&²¹³¾±è;²Ñ’s: Cut & Run (Cut & Run #1) by Madeleine Urban is the series I am currently reading with some GR friends and we love this book. It more of a Suspense/Thriller with some romance. The plot follows two law enforcement officers as they try to find a serial killer. So the emphasis was on the crime and the journey to find the bad guy, and the romance was secondary and very "vanilla", which is good for someone new to the glbt genre. This is the 3rd m-m series that I have tried and I highly recommend it.

5. Skittles: Chase in Shadow (Johnnies, #1) by Amy Lane was a really good, emotional m-m read. It is one of my favorite books, and it was only my second m-m series ever (as I am new to the genre). But I highly recommend this book as Amy Lane wrote a great story.

6. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: The Many Sins of Lord Cameron (Highland Pleasures, #3) by Jennifer Ashley . Every book in the series is good, and they still keep the story cohesive with the other Mackenzie brothers. I am up to book 5.

7. Twix: Life in Fusion: dreaming of you by Lisa Kleypas is the book 2 of the Gamblers series. I loved this book and I love Lisa Kleypas. This book was so different from book 1, but I found it to be just as good. I hope you do too.

8. Laffy Taffy: Wallbanger by Alice Clayton is a funny book. I enjoyed it. It was light, entertaining and well written. It was a welcomed read after reading a heavily UF book. If I had to rank my recommendations to you, this one would be my top choice for you to read.

message 133: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2083 comments Hi Tiff!

Here are my picks for you. Hope you're able to find something interesting in here!

1. Hot Tamales: Connected - Haven't read this one myself, but that cover looks pretty hot.

2. Ghiradelli Chocolate: Darkfever - I just read this book the other day and I'm certainly hooked! I think it's time for you to sink your teeth into this series. :)

3. Tootsie Pop: Wicked Burn - Lol...this is the only book on your tbr that's been there over 6 months.

4. M&M's: The Mane Event - This is one of my favorite series. Sexy and so funny!

5. Skittles: I'll Be Your Drill, Soldier - M/M is one of my favorite genres and this book is one of my favorites in general! If you've ever considered trying out some m/m, this is the book to start with!

6. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups: Devil's Bride - If you're going to read Stephanie Laurens, this is the one to read. She's become so prolific and her books keep going down in quality, but this was one of the first and in my opinion one of the best.

7. Twix: Liabilities

8. Laffy Taffy: The Mane Event and I'll Be Your Drill, Soldier both qualify for this category as well, just so you know. I LOVE humor with my romance and I've heard great things about Wallbanger. I haven't been fortunate enough to read this one myself yet, but it's high on my list!

3. Tootsie Pop:
Eighty Days Yellow (TBR) Dark, sexy fun.

7. Twix :

Changing The Game (Play By Play, #2) by Jaci Burton Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2) by Katie McGarry

8. Laffy Taffy:
My Summer of Wes (New) I know this has been said a thousand and a half times here... but ignore the atrocious cover. This book will melt your heart.
Frog (New) Such a sweet and heartwarming story!

My Summer of Wes by Missy Welsh Frog by Mary Calmes

Hope one (or more!) of these works for you!

Nancy H | 1097 comments Gea,
It was a lot of fun looking through your lists and picking for you. I have quite a mixture, so if you can't find anything that tempts you, please let me know and I can easily find more!

1.Hot Tamale: : Both have hot covers: Double Play by Jill Shalvis and Hot Stuff by Carly Phillips

2.Ghirardelli Chocolate: Julia's Chocolates by Cathy Lamb (fun, emotional, and involves some very interesting chocolates!); Chocolat by Joanne Harris (a great read and more chocolate fun); Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs (very emotional)

3. Tootsie Pop: Three books that I loved that are older: The Foxes of Harrow by Frank Yerby; The Pride of the Peacock by Victoria Holt; and for something a little different: North and South by John Jakes

4. M&Ms: I noticed that you like Victoria Holt, so you might also like Phyllis Whitney. Two of my favorites of hers are The Golden Unicorn and Hunter's Green. Another newer author that you have on your TBR who is quite good is Sara Zarr: Sweethearts

5.Skittles: Colorful covers and very good books: He Loves Lucy by Susan Donovan; Real Men Will by Victoria Dahl; Montana Sky by Nora Roberts

6. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: Baby It's Cold Outside by Addison Fox; Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella

Happy Reading! I hope you find something you like.

message 139: by Becca (new)

Becca (becca16) | 293 comments OK Jane! Here we go! You have so many to choose from I tried to get a lot from your lists instead of new picks to help you trim it down some :)

1. Hot Tamales: Raphael/Parish (Bayou Heat, #1-2) by Alexandra Ivy Dark Harmony (Dark Seduction, #1) by Lilly Cain
The guys on both covers are looking pretty sexy to me and I like that they aren't the normal steamy covers of guy on girl or soemthing :)
2. Ghirardelli Chocolate: Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon Daughter of Darkness (Kindred, #1) by V.C. Andrews
Neither of these is on the lists you provided but they are on your TBR and I love both authors so think that they are something you can sink your teeth in!
3. Tootsie Pop: Angel's Ink (The Asylum's Tales, #1) by Jocelynn Drake The Darkest Hour (KGI, #1) by Maya Banks
Tried to add Victorious Star since it's been on your list the longest but it can't be found for some reason, only the second and third in the series are showing up!
4. ²Ñ&²¹³¾±è;²Ñ’s: Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult Rush (Breathless, #1) by Maya Banks
So I chose Jodi Picoult because you didn't have her on your read list and I personally love her! I know she's not everyone's cup of tea tho, so I also added a series that you have on one of your lists :)
5. Skittles: Cut & Run (Cut & Run #1) by Madeleine Urban My Life After Now by Jessica Verdi
I've seen a lot of people reading Roux right now and I didn't see any of her's on your read list. The second just had a nice cover and seems like other people like it haha :)
6. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. James Thoughtless (Thoughtless, #1) by S.C. Stephens
This category was hard for me because I was unfamiliar with your lists so I went to the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ HEA list and looked to see if any of them were on your TBR. Fifty Shades was and the other was a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ author that has some good ratings!
7. Twix : Wicked Cravings (The Phoenix Pack, #2) by Suzanne Wright Midnight Blue-Light Special (InCryptid, #2) by Seanan McGuire
8. Laffy Taffy: One for the Money / Two for the Dough (Stephanie Plum, #1-2) by Janet Evanovich The Model Mystery by Maci Grant
Janet Evanovich always makes me laugh! I seriously love her! As for the other, I'm not sure, but it looks like it would be entertaining :)
Hope you enjoy your picks! If you want anything re-picked let me know!!

I'm too stubborn to change my picks though... so I'll wait and if they aren't fixed tomorrow I'll try to work around it.

Our tastes are a bit different I wasn't familiar with most of your TBR list so let me know if you want repicks.

1. Hot Tamales: The Mane Event
Hot cover, hot ex seal lion shifter sex... good stuff.

2. Ghirardelli Chocolate: Rock Chick
Intense alpha males and fun loving girl. I recently started this series and I can't get enough.

3. Tootsie Pop: Trial by Fire
This has been on your list for a while, I've not read it but the cover looks sweet.

4. ²Ñ&²¹³¾±è;²Ñ’s: The Duke and I
From the looks of your shelves historical would be a new genre.

5. Skittles: The Bro-Magnet
I've not read this one either but it is a bright colored cover from your TBR list.

6. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups:Fantasy Lover
THis is the begining to one of my favorite series with lots of HEA's.

7. Twix : Futures and Frosting
I have the first book to read, it looks like you really enjoyed it so why not give the next one a go.

8. Laffy Taffy: First Grave on the Right
Funny, funny stuff.

From your shelves: Trial by Fire (Firefighters of Station Five, #1) by Jo Davis First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones Futures and Frosting (Chocolate Lovers, #2) by Tara Sivec The Bro-Magnet (Nice Guy, #1) by Lauren Baratz-Logsted

There seems to be some issues with adding book links and it's late here in NY so I will post your recs in the morning- hopefully the problem will be fixed by then :)

~KarenH~ | 10995 comments Hi Elke!

I had a good time picking for you - we have a nice mix of similarities and differences in our tastes, so I tried to choose a good variety of picks from your shelves and new to you. Hope you find something you like!

1. Hot Tamales: One Sweet Ride or Entwined with You - both from your on-deck shelf, I'm looking forward to both of them also, but probably not this month...

2. Ghirardelli Chocolate: Outlander - definitely a commitment but well worth it, or One Reckless Summer - wonderful, emotional book...I really need to get back to this series!

3. Tootsie Pop: Sweet Surrender or The Gamble, both from your TBR, first books in series by authors you seem to enjoy. I liked them both.

4. ²Ñ&²¹³¾±è;²Ñ’s: Simply Love or Exclusively Yours - a couple of favorites of mine by authors it doesn't appear that you've read before.

5. Skittles: A Reason To Believe - it doesn't look like you read a lot of m/m, but this is a sweet love story with a bit of everything in it. OR Heaven, Texas - the second book in Susan Elizabeth Phillips' Chicago Stars series, and has one of the best grovel scenes ever!

6. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: The Look of Love - the first book in a series I love by Bella Andre, or Do Over - a short, wonderful story of a couple rediscovering their love and passion after 25 years of marriage.

7. Twix: Down London Road, Fire Inside, or The Forever of Ella and Micha - the easiest category ever, three choices that fit, right off your on-deck shelf! :D

8. Laffy Taffy: Simply Irresistible - I'm a huge Jill Shalvis fan, and can't believe you haven't read anything of hers before this, or Driving Mr. Dead - Molly Harper is always good for some fun.

Happy Reading!
