Sigh, I'm down to only needing 2 more books for the challenge. But I can't find anything for those 2 years that even strikes my fancy. Sigh, wish I could find SOMETHING. I am trying to not miss completing any of the challenges this year. :o( I've done some other reading this month tho. My library finally got in One Foot in the Grave book 2 of the Night Huntress series. I'm still waiting on books 1 and 3. But I really liked this one. So I'm looking forward to getting to read the other 2.
And my PBS order, the person posting the book I wanted ran out of time before they responded. Only thing I can think of is they must have been gone on vacation or something. That was my 2001 book. Now to go searching for something else.

Moi--I saw that and have been going through it for ideas. The problem is--I don't know what I'm in the mood to read. Hubby had knee surgery on Friday (arthroscopic) and he's being a grouch as well as not being able to move well. So I'm kind of not really in the mood to read, since he wants me with him most of the time (if he's not asleep--he keeps dozing off) so I will pick up a book, get 5 or 10 pages into it, then have to go do something for him, lose my place and have to start all over again. I guess I'm really just not in the "mood" ya know?

2007 -
2006 -
2005 - Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
2004 - The Fairy Godmother by Mercedes Lackey
2003 - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
2002 - Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon
2001 - Fool Moon by Jim Butcher

I understand totally about having to be in the mood to read something, and what to read at all. Sometimes I want dark, other times, light and funny. And what is happening within my home plays a huge role in that.
Good luck!

2009 - Sizzle and Burn by Jayne Ann Krentz

warning, warning, warning. (however no spoilers) :o)
Ok, I got the book Werewolf Sanctuary because the premise sounded really good. I have about half finished it and had to put it down to get over being annoyed. If you are like me and bad (make that terrible) editing really bothers you--don't bother buying this book. Get it from the library, borrow it from your best friend but don't waste your money on it.
And the bad editing is really too bad. Because the author tells a good and entertaining story and has a fairly interesting mythos set-up for it. But the editing. (shuddering)
Typos, extra words, wrong words, a few sentences that were obviously supposed to be changed and only got partially changed. Sigh. I know that spell/grammar checkers for the general public suck, but you'd think that they'd have something that actually worked for publishing companies.
Bad editing in general bothers me, and I have been known to tell stores/businesses that they need to revise their signs. My Grandmother was a teacher and both my parents insisted on correct grammar. I tell people that I'm channeling my "inner editor" when I complain about their signs. Some are just stupid too--having EXCEPT instead of ACCEPT. The sign in question said, "We EXCEPT nothing but AmEx, VISA and Mastercard." I pointed out to the head cashier that that meant that the took no payments at all. Since there were signs on each cash register that said that they were unable to take cash at that point. (I think it was Christmas or something and they were expecting lots of shoppers.)

I am exactly "that" way. Some of the earlier Lora Leigh Breeds book by Ellora's Cave, the editing was atrocious.
Have you ever read the book Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss? I think you'd LOVE it.

Ok, Oz suggested that I should post the company that published Sanctuary. Its Vanilla Heart Publishing. I haven't read anything else that they've published, so I don't know if this is their "usual" way of handling editing (i.e. none at all) but thought I'd put it out there so that if anyone else had had the same problem they could let us know.
And btw--I am so anal about editing that I have been known to go back into a message I've posted 3 or 4 times to get it editied correctly. And even then, I've seen a few where I missed correcting something. Which then makes me go AARRGGGHHHHHHH and want to tear out my hair. :o)

Kristen - Wow grats!
Dangit! I missed getting in before the update!!! I finished Dead Beat earlier today! I'm supposed to be on page 220 of Proven Guilty by the end of today and it ain't happening. My nose is stuffy, the kids are driving me nuts, and I am just having trouble sticking to reading. I'm enjoying Dresden so I don't know if I've just reached my limit or what. I'm also trying to get some stuff done for this weekend's trip... urgh. We'll see what happens. I need to finish this book tomorrow to stay "on track". EEEK. LOL It's like 400 pages!
But I'm sticking with this Harry Dresden thing... :)
2001 - Grave Peril
2002 - Summer Knight
2003 - Death Masks
2004 - Blood Rites
2005 - Dead Beat
Five down. Four to go. I'm trying so hard to get through all these Dresden books! LOL I'm not looking at ANY other challenges. Though I did need a G for my alphabet and I nailed that one! YAY. HAHA But I'm not trying...
Surely I can get through four books. Right? I just have so much stuff going on and these are freaking long books being nearly 400 pages each. Sheesh. LOL
Keep up the good work everyone!

This month I have managed to read a few other good ones:
[Book:Slave to Sensation]
[Book:Jewel of Atlantis]
[Book: The Vampire's Bride]
[Book:The Immortal Highlander] I think this is my favorite of the series.

BJ, Devil of the Highlands was my first Lynsay Sands book :) I enjoyed it - it was a quick fun read. Hero and heroine likeable characters and a who-dunn-it to solve as well.
My favourite Highland series though is KMM's :)

I enjoyed [image error] . It was darker then I thought. I was expecting YA. In this case I really think it is Young ADULT. I thought of reading it with my 11 year old and decided there is to much adult theme for her--but it was great for me.
Also finiished Lamentation, a great Fantasy.

I dont know that I have the will to not delve into them. I guess library will be the determining factor. Nightside is waiting for me there.
