Here you can talk about series that you liked at first, but started to drag on/had terrible endings/had anything else that made you not like it!

message 2: by Imani (new)

Imani Delirium series . I LOVED first and the second one but I hated the last book ending .

message 3: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments Actually, i am surprised. I don`t have any books that were boring to me. I pick out books that i know that i would like and read.

Victoria House of night (dragged out) and Evermore series(hated but couldn't stop reading and don't know why).

message 5: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments Were they both that boring

I totally agree with you!! I just loved the first and second books in these two series, but after that they started dragging and became all weird and annoying. ><

message 7: by Victoria (new)

Victoria House of Night is good and I love PC Cast but it feels like it never ends and nothing ever happens. Love the characters though! As for Evermore series ( I think it's called the immortals) it's really bad. I only keep reading cause I like one of the characters. I start out hopeful that it will be better then the last one but end up forcing myself to finish...

message 8: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments I have heard of the Evermore series;it looked pretty interesting but i never did read them.

message 9: by Victoria (new)

Victoria My brother is actually the one who got it for me cause he said it looked like a book I would read. Sadly although the covers r pretty I would not recommend

message 10: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments I do recommend you to start with the first book and see how you like it. I really loved it, but then I was disappointed somewhere at the end of books two. You should see how it works for you!

message 11: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments Oh. Okay. I was going to read it some other time though. Any other books you like?

message 12: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments Well, a lot of them!! You reminded me now that I wanted to open a thread just for recommendations. It'll be up in a sec!

message 13: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments Lol. And you almost forgot. Good thing i brought that up.

message 14: by Hailie (new)

Hailie | 11 comments I really liked The Night World series by L.J. Smith. I would stay up all night reading it. I just couldn't put it down!

message 15: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments I started to like the Trylle series and the Shadow Falls series too. Those were awesome. I stayed up most of the night to read those.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Gallagher girls series

message 17: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments I have never heard of that series.

message 18: by Hailie (new)

Hailie | 11 comments I love the Gallager Girls series. It's amazing!

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

IKR
I'm totally in love with Zach

message 20: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 18, 2013 01:34AM) (new)

I liked the first book of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, but then...

message 21: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 8 comments Oh boy, there are a lot of books that fit that category for me, but the Maggie Stiefvater series usually fits this category. I don't know what it is with her books, they all have this vague, dreamy sort of storytelling that is great, but eventually makes me forget what happened in the book. I couldn't finish the Wolves of Mercy Falls books. The only thing I could finish was her standalone book.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I thought maximum ride was really good at first but it was terrible at the ending

message 23: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments Lennie wrote: "OH! and Shiver/Linger/Forever series! I loved all of the books but the ending was like "wait what!?!? its over?" there is a lot left out in the open in my opinion"

A friend of mine told me the same!! That's why I'm afraid to read the third book. I don't want to be disappointed after the amazing first two books.

message 24: by Dafna (new)

Dafna | 6 comments The Infernal Devices. I just LOVED Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince, but then...Clockwork Princess was terrible in my opinion. I just wanted it to end already and there were so many annoying things, like - why are they all paired up? And what is up with the epilogue?!

message 25: by Hailie (new)

Hailie | 11 comments The Daughter of Smoke and Bone series. (Can't wait until the third one comes out!)

@dafna
OH MY GOSH.
I loved the Infernal Devices series!! once I finished Clockwork Princess, I was on shock for like, days. It was amazing. (Not the epilogue though)

message 27: by Dafna (new)

Dafna | 6 comments Really? I was so disappointed!
I mean, it wasn't THAT bad, but I just didn't feel anything for characters I used to love.

message 28: by Anne (new)

Anne | 5 comments There are so many series that I loved, but the last book ruined everything, like Hush Hush and Beautiful Creatures.

I was the same way with the Evermore books. Like I was just waiting for them to get better. I read five and the companion series Radiance before I gave up.

Hmm, that's what everyone says...I don't know if I should read the series or not.

message 32: by Raevyn (new)

Raevyn "Lucia" [I'm in it for the books] (raevynstar) | 43 comments Animorphs had a cool premise, but by book # 40 it just got confusing.

message 33: by Alexis (new)

Alexis | 4 comments I could not bring myself to finish the Evermore series, even though the first book was amazing, all the rest just got progressively worse. I also could not finish Artemis Fowl, which needed to end, I loved it, but it needed to end. Maximum Ride is probably one of my favorite series ever, but I think that it should have cut off at the third book, I love some of the later ones, but there was a middle period that was horrendous. The Matched series by Ally Condie was never my thing really, but the first books were decent, it was the last one where I could not bring myself to actually care about the characters. Last one, the Sookie Stackhouse series, interesting couple of books, but they just drag on and on.

message 34: by Shannon (last edited Jun 29, 2013 07:36PM) (new)

Shannon (therivershannon) Okay. Maximum Ride....I feel like James Patterson just knocks out books so quickly, and truly, I did enjoy all the snarky comments and sarcasm he included in Maximum Ride but it seemed that the themes were constantly changing. For like the first three books it was only about hiding and getting away/staying alive then all of a sudden all of this global warming stuff was incorporated! Don't get me wrong, I love the planet as much as the next reader, but it just came out of nowhere! And that last book to end the series... just didn't CUT IT!
Anybody else read the series and feel the same way?!

message 35: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (therivershannon) Imani wrote: "Delirium series . I LOVED first and the second one but I hated the last book ending ."
I AGREE! The first book was SO GOOD, and I found myself sort of struggling to get through requiem and some of pandemonium was a stretch. One can only do so much running through the wilds before it's like.....UGHHHH! haha

Alexis | 4 comments Shannon wrote: "Okay. Maximum Ride....I feel like James Patterson just knocks out books so quickly, and truly, I did enjoy all the snarky comments and sarcasm he included in Maximum Ride but it seemed that the the..."

I agree. Honestly, after the first three, I would say that the only ones that even came remotely close to being that good were Fang, Angel, and Nevermore. That's only remotely, I don't think that Max or The Final Warning were very good at all.

message 37: by Hayleebee (new)

Hayleebee | 7 comments The Vampire Diaries By LJ Smith I loved the first three but then it kinda got boring and I agree with the Wolves Of Mercy Falls. I've yet to finish the series because I kinda lost interest half way through the second book.

message 38: by Kiki (new)

Kiki | 14 comments The Wolves of Mercy Falls! I LOVED the first two but I keep rereading the final book and just can't get past 100 pages without putting it down and reading something else, it's frustrating cause I really like to finish series. Also the Hush Hush saga, the first two I read in a day but then the last two were kind of like "ugh"

message 39: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments A lot of people say that, Kiki!! That's why I'm afraid to pick up the last book. I just LOVED the first two books in the series and I prefer not reading a book at all than being disappointed.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Twilight (don't judge me) started off pretty promising. Actually, no. Twilight was great, New Moon was ABYSMAL. Eclipse was absolutely phenomenal, then Breaking Dawn was a bit of an anti climax. Sigh.

message 41: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments I've read Breaking Dawn when I was only 12 and I remember the whole pregnancy parts made me feel sick to my stomach!

message 42: by Leah (new)

Leah (lepolk) | 30 comments I read Matched. It was good to begin with...then it got cliche and boring. Yeah, not continuing with THAT series.

message 43: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Dang Vampire Academy :/ I don't like Rose and Demitri :( Adrian sounds cuteriffic <3

Shannon (therivershannon) Nancy wrote: "Vampire Academy :/ I don't like Rose and Demitri :( Adrian sounds cuteriffic <3"

Is Vampire Academy good? My friend reads it and loves it, but I've heard mixed reviews...and I just don't know! Should I read?!

message 45: by Nyssa (new)

Nyssa | 1 comments I read the first Thirst novel and liked it but about halfway through the second book it started to get really weird so I stopped reading it.

message 46: by zenoodle (new)

zenoodle | 3 comments the uglies series by scott westerfeld, I haven't gotten to the last book because Pretties left me just really annoyed haha

message 47: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Rodas | 9 comments OMG I know!!!!! I literally threw the book across the room but I restarted it after like two years:P and the ending is really good especially extras! :)

message 48: by Yitkah (new)

Yitkah | 2 comments Two summers ago i started reading the A-list i read the first 6 books then gave up then last year i tryed again read the first 4 and a half than gave up yet again. After that i decide that it just wasn't the book for me but still it was interesting up until i got bored of it each time.

message 49: by Gabrielle (new)

Gabrielle (gabbilynn24) | 18 comments I know this probably get said a lot but the very first book I read that didn't involve school was the Twilight series & ever since then I have been hooked on books.

message 50: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Rodas | 9 comments OMG!!!! Same here!!! Before twilight I hated reading! Aaahhhh if you'd meet me then you would be really surprised at that:P
