Aha! I should have known you were a devious Ultra! But thanks.

Chris | 57 comments Started Red Country on audible this month. Loving it, so far. The narrator really enhances the joy of these books. Don't think I could read the kindle versions. I want Steven Pacey reading them to me.

I am missing, "Say one thing for Logen Ninefingers, say he's..."

I agree. Steven Pacey as narrator is the way to really enjoy Abercrombie.

Nico (darkybald) | 30 comments I finished the second book of the Commonwealth saga Judas Unchained. It was a fantastic read and definitely one of the best space operas I ever read. The first book of Peter F. Hamiltion's Void Trilogy The Dreaming Void arrived yesterday and I just started it. It's in the same universe but takes place 1000 years after the first two books.
While waiting for the book to arrive I finally read some of Micheal J. SullivanTheft of Swords and Rise of Empire. A lot of people recommended him and I really became a fan of his writing style.
In the meantime I also read a non-sff book Lautlos by Frank Schätzing, an interesting thriller, but only available in German :)
See you in August...

Nokomis.FL (nokomisfl) | 316 comments Just finished all 7 of Rik Brown's Frontier Series books in record time and looking forward to book 8. If you like the Kris Longknife or Honoreverse books you really should check these out.

Hack | 15 comments Reading a great deal this month because I am on vacation and do not have to read for work.

Just finished the upcoming pick The Curse of Chalionand really enjoyed it enough to start the next in the series Paladin of Souls.

I also started another series by L.E. Modesitt Jr.: Imager, Imager's Challengeand Imager's Intrigue. A good world with an interesting magic system. If you like Modesitt you might like it. They were a good light read to go alongside other things.

I am also listening to

Ender's Shadow on Audible and have almost finished.

One book I am reading in parts that is not Laser or Sword, but I need the lighter stuff to get through is Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity. I can only take a few chapters of "reality" in India before I need something a lot lighter.

Dara (cmdrdara) | 2702 comments Finished Before They Are Hanged and liked it quite a bit more than The Blade Itself. Now in a Harry Potter mood so I'm going with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

terpkristin | 4391 comments I listened to Redshirts over the weekend and wasn't all that into it, which I kind of figured would happen.

I'm now a bit over halfway through my friend's book. I'm also listening to the new Andy Carpenter novel, Unleashed. I'll finish it today or tomorrow, then onto Carniepunk which should be fun. It's been awhile since I've read a short story collection. :)

Also, while I've read it before, I do plan to re-listen to The Curse of Chalion for the August pick.

For some reason, Curse of Chalion is at this moment only $3.99 on Audible. Already had the e-book from the library, but snapped this up and I'm switching gears!
