The alternates:
Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

Hi Ya Teamies! I'm really excited to start Friday. This is my first time doing this challenge, I did the SSS the first time around and really enjoyed it but wanted to play a more relaxed game this time with the 1 book a week option.

I can be Team captain if nobody else wants to do the job I have a little more free time since I'm working less right now.

As for Team names I'll have to think On that for a bit and see what I can come up with.

I'm looking forward to playing with you all and I'm pretty sure I haven't played with any of you before so it will a pleasure to get to know each of you :D

jingles | 291 comments Hi, I'm jingles. This is my first time to play this game. I'm very excited about the team challenge, and can't wait for it to start!

Nichole | 1862 comments Hi Teammies!

I'm still pretty new to this group so I haven't done many challenges. Yet :) I can't wait to get started!

I see familiar names here. I'm pretty sure a lot of us are in other groups together.

I'm all for someone else being captain too. Kat, you have my vote, lol.

As far as names go, I'm not that creative with them. There are a ton of team name generators out there for something totally random though.

SandyC (sandyc88) | 1202 comments Hello team 8!
I'm excited to play.
I played the 2 book/week game last time, so I think this will be a bit more relaxed!

Kat, I would love for you to be captain! :-)

OK I'll take on the roll of Captain now we just need to figure out at team name :)

Kim | 0 comments Hey guys!!! I am excited to play too. I am moving in two days so I might not be around very much this first week, but I will be sure to check in on Friday and pick my book. Looking forward to playing with everyone!

And thanks for taking on captain duties, Kat! And I like Termin8ers too. :)

message 17: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 04, 2014 03:03AM) (new)

I guess the next thing we should talk about is when everyone would be ready for dice rolls to happen on Fridays.

I live in Nova Scotia, Canada which puts me in the Canada/Atlantic time zone which is 2 hours ahead of US Central time...so when it's 7:00 am here it's only 5 am US central time.

Also I think we have until midnight Fridays to get all our reviews in before we lose a turn, so we should all try and come up with a plan to maybe have our books read and reviewed by the end of every Thursday but there is no pressure if you can't.

So most likely I'll roll the dice Friday mornings around 7am my time if we have all our reviews in by that time

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

As you can probably tell I'm a planner....lol but don't feel any pressure things will get done as they get done :)

Also I should let you all know that I leave to go on Vacation March 27 for a week so if the game is still going on then which I think It will be I will need one of you to step in as captain while I'm away. I will have WiFi at the resort so I will still be able to check in and post my book but someone else will have to take care of the roll and posting of reviews if necessary

message 19: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 05, 2014 02:34AM) (new)

As of right now we have 5 votes for The Termin8ers as our team name we're still waiting to hear from Andrea to get her thoughts so I'll wait to tell Jenne anything just yet.

OK I've rambled enough for one day time to get ready for work... Catch you later Team!

message 20: by SandyC (new)

SandyC (sandyc88) | 1202 comments I'm in the US Central time zone. I think finishing/reviewing by Thursday night is very do-able, especially if we know what the roll is on Friday mornings.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Are any of you girls friends with Andrea, I tried to send her a PM to tell her Teams where set up but she doesn't except messages. Anyway we still have 2 days before we start so hopefully we'll hear from her soon :)

jingles | 291 comments Not I. I wonder if one of the Mods are though.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I just sent her a pm. Hopefully she'll check in soon.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

That's great thanks Jenne :)

message 25: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (andreaking) Hey guys! Sorry I'm late. I didn't realize we were separated into groups already until Jenne sent me a message.

Thanks for that Jenne, by the way.

I am all for The Termin8ers and Kat being Captain. Thanks for stepping up!

I have a question, though, and I'm not sure if it's against the rules or anything but is it really strictly the captain that has to do the rolling of the dice? Can it be delegated to someone else so she won't have to wake up too early but we still get the dice results on time? Does someone here live somewhere where it won't be too early for them? I'm from Edmonton and I'm on Mountain Time so that would be 6am for me and I'm sure I'll still be still sleeping. Not really a big deal but just putting it out there. If that's allowed and somebody wants to step up, then why not, right?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Glad to hear from you Andrea! :)

I'll put in today our team name and that I'll be captain.

And to answer your question Andrea, No it doesn't always have to be the captain that rolls every Friday, and I'm up every morning at 6 or 6:30 am anyway so rolling isn't a big issue for me that early. I've got myself conditioned to wake up at 6-6:30 everyday cause my job starts at 7:30 in the morning... sucky I know but I'm used to it now after 10 years :D

But if there is ever a time that I can't roll or post anyone else on the team is more then welcome to do it :)

message 27: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (andreaking) Oh good, just didn't want you to feel like you have to get up that early just to roll. :) And yes, that kind of sucks having to wake up that early everyday. I don't think I could do that, I'm not a morning person, ha ha!

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

can't wait to start! I be rolling the dice in a few more hours. ..but first I need to sleep, see you bright and early in the AM

Brief Review
Small town Fool's Gold, California has a slight problem--a shortage of men. Charity Jones has been hired as the new City Manager and to fix that problem. Within the first hour on the job her computer blows up during an important presentation, and in walks the town's favorite single man, Josh Golden. Coming from very similar backgrounds of broken homes and relationships, Charity and Josh encounter numerous bumps and bruises along the way, but eventually give in to the instant attraction they both feel for each other. But that's not the end of the story - only the beginning.

What I liked: I loved the real life issues, highs and lows, that all take place in this story. Right when one problem is solved, another arises. There are very complex, everyday challenges that Charity and Josh must face and address. There were many twists and turns, and just when you thought things were really going to be okay, another problem surfaces. What I really loved about this was the author's ability to bring all of this into play, and then work it all out so seamlessly. It was a great story!

What I didn't like: towards the end, I found myself becoming frustrated with Charity. To me, that was the only downfall of the book, and it was really very slight.

I am really looking forward to book #2 of the series.

I'm 3/4 of the way through my book should be done sometime tomorrow :0) Really liking it so far!

Review:
What would you do if you had the chance to live forever? With everything you could possibly need or want the only catch is you have to kill people to have it. Well this the dilemma that Dexter Allen Roth has to decide he wants or not. You see Dex is a homeless young man living on the cold streets of Fairbanks, Alaska in order to survive he has to do things like pickpocket and steal but when one of his pickpocketing jobs ends up with him dead and a young woman saved from a horrible accident he is faced with the choice of a life time, Kill the girl he saved and live the high life warm and off the streets or be Recalled and go to a place far worse then Hell.

I can not even begin to say how much I loved this book, even now writing this review I can't help but tear up. This book had it all Action, Romance, laugh out loud moments and yes I cried like a baby when reading the last 2 chapters.

For a New Adult novel I was so very pleased that there was no love triangle and there was absolutely no sex.. shocking I know but It did nothing to take away form the story it's self, which was told form the POV of both the Main characters. With the absence of sex you are left with really getting to know these characters in a much more personal way, and even though the story didn't have your typical HEA, I felt more then satisfied with the way the author choose to end this book.

I will be reading the next book almost as soon as I can get my hands on it and this one will have it's own place on my favorites shelf for a long long time :)

Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1) by Richelle Mead by Richelle Mead

Immortals are being murdered in the Seattle area and it’s up to Georgina Kincaid to put a stop to it. Okay, not really, but she does want answers and her Handler is being very tight-lipped about everything. So, what’s a succubus to do? Well, figure it out on her own of course!

This was an enjoyable start to what I’m hoping will be a great series. It was a little predictable but I still liked it. It flowed smoothly and was filled with interesting characters. I love Urban Fantasy but I don’t think I’ve ever read a series with so many immortals clutching their humanity so closely. I mean you have Jerome, the archdemon, who has taken the human form of a John Cusack look alike. Peter, the balding vampire who is dieting and trying different hair styles to get more female attention. And of course Georgina, the local succubus, who works in a book store, takes the time to dress and apply make-up even though she can shape shift, and huge fan of author Seth Mortensen.

There is a small love triangle but it wasn’t filled with teenage angst, thank God! It also resolves itself before the end of the book, whew. I’m looking forward to the next book and seeing these characters grow. I have an audible addiction and might have to use a credit for the next one!

*Is it Friday morning yet? :)

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Good Job Team! Just remember I can't roll until all the reviews are posted tomorrow :)

Looking forward to a new roll and a new book to read :D

jingles | 291 comments Kat, I want to make sure I understand, as this is my first time to play.

We still have 3 reviews out, and those have to be posted before you can roll on Friday. But also, if the reviews are not in by Friday, don't we have to wait another week before you can roll? Meaning we would go the week without being able to roll and move forward? Or is it that we would not even be on space 10 until all reviews are in? I think I'm making this harder than it needs to be. Lol

I just want to make sure I understand :)

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

It OK Jingles... my first time was confusing too :)

Yes all the reviews have to be in by Midnight friday or we loose a turn and have to stay on our current space(#10) until the next roll.

If all the reviews are in by the end of the day today I'll be able to roll first thing in the morning... if not I'll roll whenever the last review comes in :)
