Finished with Fury of the Demon and saying that I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I’m livid. I used to like this series; it was one of the better urban fantasy series that I have read. I don’t like when a series I like goes, in my opinion, bad. It isn't the story that I have a problem with; it is the main character's choice of boyfriend that irritates me.

Have begun The Eye of God and even if it turns out that it is not one of his better books than at least I know that I will be entertained. I have yet to read a book by James Rollins that I really dislike.

I wouldn't want to influence your opinion on the book, but I will say that it doesn't add much in the grand story of Sigma Force vs Guild.

The Judas Strain is my favourite too, it was also the first I read. It was an impulse buy and I didn’t realise that it was part of a series until after I had bought it.

Got any plans on reading the series he has co-written with Rebecca Cantrell?

I recently finished The Straits of Galahesh, book 2 in Bradley P. Beaulieu's Lays of Anuskaya series. I'm really enjoying this series. I'm going to start book 3 soon.

I'm reading Dante's Divine Comedy with another Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ group. I just finished Inferno and will start Purgatorio tonight.

I also picked up Judas Strain in much the same situation. I think I read one of his standalones prior to it though (Subterranean, I think).

I'm on the fence with the Rebecca Cantrell collaboration. I'm just not that big a fan of vampire stories.

I have read the Cantrell collaboration - the first one was just alright, but I really enjoyed the sequel. The vampire thing is dealt with in a relatively interesting way, but if you don't at all like vampire stories it might not be worth your time.

Just finished my reread of The Way of Kings and am almost finished with Honor's Knight.

I have to check out the Rollins and Cantrell books sometime, I randomly read Map of Bones a few years back and it had promise. Im looking forward to what he's been upto lately.

Finally finished up with Words of Radiance, my review, its off to The Fell Sword for me now!

I seem to be the only person that actually enjoys the final fight more than a fight that occured halfway through the book. Le sigh.

Finished Woken Furies and, in light of his recent passing, decided to revisit one of my favorites, Michael Shea's Nifft the Lean.

It's been a really busy weekend.

I finished reading Words of Radiance and absolutely LOVED it (My Review).

I also finished listening to Influx which was decent, but not great(My Review)

I also read Locke & Key, Vol. 1: Welcome to Lovecraft - Locke & Key, Vol. 6: Alpha & Omega. I really enjoyed the series. I wrote brief reviews of each: (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6)

I also finally read Attack on Titan, Volume 11 (Quick Review)

I finished Vampire Hunter D Volume 18 Fortress of the Elder God. Upon reading 18 of these, they are all basically the same. Most disappointing, the purple prose didn't even get me a laugh this time.

I'm starting The Spy Who Loved Me James Bond 10. I also just started reading Orgy Slaves with my husband. That one is for the Robert Silverberg. Yeah, that's it...

So I'm reading nothing too impressive as I continue to wait for my husband to finish Words of Radiance.

Empress of the Night by Evan Stachniak is killing my brain cells.

The Hugh Howey story in Robot Uprisings was sick! But so short. I'm gonna have to check out those Wool books at some point.

Finished The Way of Kings last night, and went straight into Words of Radiance.

I've just started The Ringworld Engineers. I read Ringworld ages ago. It's about time I continued the story. Can it live up to the prior book?

I might have actually liked Engineers better than the original. The subsequent books didn't do as much for me; mostly because Niven kept trying to update/retrofit things to account for changes in technology and scientific knowledge between the time the first couple of books were written and the time the later installments were written.

After the publication of Ringworld many fans identified numerous engineering problems in the Ringworld as described in the novel. One major problem was that the Ringworld, being a rigid structure, was not actually in orbit around the star it encircled and would eventually drift, ultimately colliding with its sun and disintegrating. This led MIT students attending the 1971 Worldcon to chant, "The Ringworld is unstable! The Ringworld is unstable!" The phrase made its way into a filk song, "Give Me That Pro, Larry Niven." Niven wrote the 1980 sequel The Ringworld Engineers in part to address these engineering issues. The ring was found to have a system of attitude jets atop the rim walls, but the Ringworld had become gravely endangered because most of the jets had been removed by the natives, to power their interstellar ships. (The natives had forgotten the original purpose of the jets.)

There are many great PL fantasy books that should be translated to English. One of my favorite authors - A.R. Reystone still has no translations. And there's also quite many books from Russia, Ukraine that never went far enough, we're kind of lucky here to receive PL translations at least :)

I've seen a few Russian fantasy authors making their way over here -- Alexey Pehov (whom I've read) and Sergey Dyachenko (whom I haven't), to say nothing of the Night Watch and Metro 2033 books. I'd love to see more.

I have Night Watch on my to read list since I've seen the movies but somehow can't get to it, there's always some other book lying closer when I'm choosing my next read.

I'm probably alone in this, but I'm reading a book about Greek Mythology, called, simply, Mythology by Edith Hamilton. I love Greek myth in addition to sci-fi and fantasy, which, technically, any mythology is fantasy. Might read The Iliad after I'm done with that or Ender's Game, not sure.

Read The Martian. The ragtop strained credulity a bit, but I loved the book.

Just kidding, I like myths too, but somehow I tend to read books based on them then the myths themselves. One of my latest favorites - Heros powinien być jeden. Księga I it's a retelling of Hercules story with all the important gods and creatures taking action. I really liked Hermes there. He was almost human-like.

And if you're into Norse myths - Loki and following Loki: Nine Naughty Tales of the Trickster which is more of a comic view on some of the Loki's "jokes"

Just read Born Standing Up: A Comic's Life for my book club. Was way better than I expected but don't know what I was expecting really. Reading Ender's Game with my daughter for S&L Kids (and some Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy comics) and listening to The Fault in Our Stars in the car. Eclectic month to be sure.

Finished both The Handmaid's Tale which I loved, and Etiquette & Espionage which was ok. I'm a bit behind with Altered Carbon but I shall be done before the end of the month. I will be joining the Once Upon a Time Challenge, so there is a lot of fantasy in the horizon and I received 3 books from LbraryThing so there is also those to look forward.

Finished Words of Radiance. Amazing book!

And now its time to read some non-epic fantasy before I head back into the Wheel of Time with The Shadow Rising.

Definitely reading Doctor Sleep and then maybe On the Map: A Mind-Expanding Exploration of the Way the World Looks.

I'm more than half way through Leviathan Wakes, I'm loving it so far. Looks like I'm going to be a fan of The Expanse series!

I am about to start Nine Princes in Amber. I've heard good things about the series (Its a classic!) so I thought I'd check it out.

It's a great series, Melissa. The original five, that is, sometimes referred to as the 'Corwin Cycle'. I don't recall being equally impressed by the second five volume series, the 'Merlin Cycle', but it's been a good while since I've read them, so I might feel differently now.

I read Broken Homes, fourth in the wizard-cop-in-contemporary-London series. Arrgh, now I have to wait for the next one. Mixes goddesses and google searches in a fun way.

After finishing Altered Carbon relatively early, I started reading Words of Radiance on release night. I devoured that in a week. Moved on to The Wise Man's Fear (really anxious for the third part to be completed) and now I am working on The Word Exchange

Finished listening to Paladin of Souls (My Review).

Started listening to The Ghost Brigades.

Finished with this month pick. So started listening to Storm Front, and am reading The Ancestor's Tale: A Pilgrimage to the Dawn of Evolution and rereading A Wizard of Earthsea (never got around to it last month).
