Hi and welcome to our friendly group of readers. We read mainly Golden Age detective stories and have a poll each month to choose a group read. We also have a year-long challenge under way throughout 2025, Christie's Detectives: Poirot vs Marple, where we are reading and discussing the first 6 Poirot books and the first 6 Miss Marple books.

If you have just joined us, do post in our introductions thread to let us know a bit about yourself and who your favourite authors are. All introductions should be posted in the main thread, please.

We now have 2 threads for each group book, a general thread and a spoiler thread. All group read threads will stay open, so it is never too late to join in and have your say on a book.

If you are an author, please don't promote your books in the general threads. There is a separate self-promotion section, so please just post in this area - any self-promotion posts in other areas will be moved.
