Because of the size of the old thread it's not loading quickly and causing double postings - so we now have a new one with this link to the old:

Carolyn | 9717 comments I received two books from BookDepository yesterday with two bookmarks from a new series to colour in. What a good idea! One is of a gorgeous dragon.

Incidentally the books were The Nightmare Place by Steve Mosby and The House of Frozen Dreams by Seré Prince Halverson

Nice Carolyn!

message 14: by M.R. (new)

M.R. Cullen I recently bought a Kindle edition of Wuthering Heights. I've never read it, but so many of my friends rave about it being their favourite book I thought, "Why not give it a go." The Kindle edition I bought was a dollar or something, so it was worth the gamble.

Wuthering Heights is a definite classic Mike :)

message 16: by M.R. (new)

M.R. Cullen There are so many classics I've not read yet Brenda. I feel like a very naughty reader indeed. I went on a Kindle buying spree recently and bought Little Women, Pride and Prejudice and Animal Farm. I thought I should at least attempt to read them. Although I vaguely remember hating Animal Farm when I had to read it in Year 8.

I'm a bit the same Mike, but really, life's too short and you read what you like and enjoy. I too remember disliking Animal Farm when I was at school, but also the same with Little Women and Pride and Prejudice - some people love them and read them over and over.

Never hurts to try again, and see if your tastes have matured lol. Although to be honest, I'm usually found in the pages of an Epic Fantasy novel so I'm not sure the classics are right for me.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9880 comments the book whisperer has been out and about again today:

Salvos Sue Grafton's X $6 and
Speaking in Bones Kathy Reichs $4
(both on my wishlist)

and Vinnies (and this is Carolyn's fault, stand up and take the blame for enticing me into yet another series!)
Play To Kill $3.50
Two Evils $3 but marked down to $2 because of a little bit of water damage in the last pages

I picked up Rosalee Station by Mandy Magro from a second hand book shop this morning:)

message 28: by Suz (last edited Mar 15, 2016 04:17AM) (new)

Suz | 4376 comments Terribly behind in updating my new books, but if I don't do it now I'm going to lose track. I think it's happening already!

Brand new:
After You $32 due to book voucher. Strange to 'spend' that kind of money. A bit disturbing really!
A Fortunate Life $20, the same reason
Nora Webster withdrawn 20c, so excited as it was on my list
American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History $2 Vinnies Old Bar yesterday
The Redbreast $2 Vinnies
The Street Lawyer 50c Vinnies

Most of these on my tbr. Need to stop doing this really as I'm not reading due to studies..

(BTW I have #1 available in paperback if you can wait for the next swap meet)

Carolyn | 9717 comments This morning from Netgalley (read now): The Wicked Boy: The Mystery of a Victorian Child Murderer by Kate Summerscale and The Many Selves of Katherine North by Emma Geen. Also requested one or two ....

And from Amazon: The Travelers by Chris Pavone and The Red Notebook by Antoine Laurain.

I definitely acquire books faster than I can read them so I'm in good company here :)

Kiera if you left the cover pics off, it'd be a smaller post:) Just as many books, but less space used;) Well done on those!
