I am tracking participation, and when a sign up post is updated then copied to announce you are done, it is very confusing and difficult for me to get an accurate count! Just make an announcement post that says "Finished in Message X (X is your original post's message number)!", so I know where to find your finished post.
ALSO, IF YOU DO NOT PUT A COMPLETION DATE ON ANY BOOKS LISTED IN YOUR POST, I WILL NOT MARK YOU AS PARTICIPATING IN THE CHALLENGE!!

I believe I'm doing it correctly but will double check that I didn't copy an entire post and say completed.
For the Lost Challenges we've been instructed to copy the entire post to prove our participation is complete.
I have always rated and dated my challenges except for the Million Page one since I group the books that I read that month under the month and year heading along with total number of books read monthly and the number of pages.

You did it just fine last month, JoAnne, so you don't have to worry about anything. There are a few people double posting every month, and if I double count them, it throws the participation percentages off. I'm using the participation numbers to see how successful a challenge is, to determine if it stays or not. Challenges I'm in charge of that have low participation will be dropped. TCF Monthly is not one of the ones under consideration!

Connie, I clearly state as the 4th entry, in bold print, in the How It Works section that "Books read can be used for only one task/letter!". You've got The Whistler listed for two different tasks: G in the Spell Out and for the May 12th history date. You need to pick one of those, and delete the other entry. If you do not, I will have to disqualify you from the challenge by deleting your post.

Responding to Trea, immediately above:
I'm sorry I apparently broke the rule, but it was stated earlier (a few months ago) that we could choose to use and rearrange these tasks whichever way we wanted, so I've been doing the spell-out one separately from the other challenges every month, basically making two separate challenges for myself because I like both spell-out and regular challenges and I'm only able to read about ten books a month. I didn't count the book twice. I still only one counted it as one book, but I basically made two separate challenges for myself. However, I went ahead and deleted my post and won't participate anymore. Please don't delete my past months yet, though.

I've responded in more detail in a PM to you.

Trea - I apologize for double posting for like forever!! It was a habit I got into in my first group where they like you to do that and I just carried it over here. I'll will stop doing that going forward. I like this challenge and definitely don't want to see it go away, so whatever I can do to help the cause ;-)

Thanks, LaurLa! I'm hearing a lot that another group required it for participation and it just got carried over here. It just messes my spreadsheets up, because I'm trying to count accurately, and sometimes I don't see that it is a duplicate post and count a person twice. With so many new challenges that I've created this year, I wanted a more accurate portrayal of what was working and what wasn't, but it seems like everyone is enjoying the new Monthly for the most part, so it's not going anywhere.

I know this is a rather large challenge, so I don't expect anyone to finish all parts of it, rather that you mix and match what you read for the month to it. Remember, this is one LARGE challenge, and shouldn't be viewed as lots of little challenges.
How It Works:
★Create your own challenge by mix and matching across the various tasks, however the challenge is not a series of mini challenges!! It is one large challenge, not one for spell outs and one for Wacky/History tasks!! You can, if you wish, choose to focus on only one part of it, like ONLY doing Spell Outs or ONLY doing the Wacky/History Tasks!
Books read can be used for only one task/letter, regardless of how you choose to participate!
★Books must be read from May 1st to May 31st
★Re-reads are allowed, but all books must be at least 50 pages in length!
★When using titles in the Spell Out Tasks, the words A, And, An, and The do not count.
★You CAN change your Books at any time during the challenge.
Some Info to Keep In Mind:
♦Keep your original post updated and give a shout out in the thread when you're all done! Please do not make a separate post with your finished challenge, edit your original comment! This is so I can keep accurate track of participation. You can make an announcement post like "Finished in comment #2!", so I know where to find your completed challenge to congratulate you! Duplicate posts will be deleted!
♦Mark books as finished by adding the date finished next to the book listed and either striking them out using the "< s> < /s>" HTML commands (without the spaces) or by copying and pasting a checkmark: Feel free as well to rate your Finished Books 1-5 's with 5 Being the Best, however it is not required that you do so!
♦Add a tally of completed books to your Original Post= 0/5 completed!
See my post for examples and if you have questions, PLEASE ask me here, or PM me!
Tasks:
Spell out any of the following words with Title, Author First and Last Name, or Series name. For an additional challenge, if you choose to do a spell out using titles, try using the last word of the title instead of the first to spell your words.
•Mom •May Day •Cinco de Mayo •Memorial Day •Flower(s) •Emerald •Taurus •Lily •Hawthorne •Sun •Lime(s) •Mother •Victoria (Day) •Kentucky Derby •Star Wars •Armed Forces •Spring •Mizzle
