Oooh I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this could work for one of our blue cards! It would be such a shame if we couldn't use that cover for a coloured card.
8, 9, 5! :-)

Only 2 stars? Ah well... can't love them all, I guess.
Don't forget to put it on your shelf please :-)

- Forever Dreams which I'll hopefully be finished with quickly, maybe tomorrow
- Trapped which should be a quick read. The Iron Druid Chronicles are quite interesting to read

I’ve not picked my next read yet. Anything specific needed?

We could use another book for our two remaining reverse cards.
Or, we could still use a 9 Blue.
We also have two Wild Draw 4 cards that need filling - for those you can basically choose whichever of our coloured cards to read that you want. One coloured card per Wild Draw 4 card as the coloured cards can only be duplicated once.

Reverse it is!

I’ll start this one. The cover is bluer than what he picture suggests. I think part of it is set in New York so that should cover blue 9?

Definitely slotting this in for reverse, yes :-)

Yeah that looks blue enough to me :-)
As long as the setting is about 50% percent in New York, it will definitely count for blue 9 then!

Well fantastic!!
I'll slot that into the 3 Red spot then since I haven't even started mine yet.

Aaaalmost all the cards! Come on E and V!! And maybe an O for the 1 card?? ;-)
But hey, we have an I! So it will definitely work for 5 Blue - so I'll just go and slot that in for one of our Wild Draw 4 cards.
Awesome! :-)

I think I've achieved that!

Been so long since I read that one, I might have to do a reread at some point."
I did! Creepy fun. It was a reread for me, but ages since I last read it, and my tolerance for 19thC language is much better now!

it's non-fic history, so I don't think there'll be much in the way of usable characters. and the location is the sweep from China through the 'Stans, and into Turkey & Mediterranean, so no location really either!
Also: it's on audio, is 24+hrs, so don't expect a finish this week (though it's good!)

Yes, yes, you have guessed it already - the recommendations were not only for our pleasure but there was something more to it ;-)
Since some of you have already added a few of the recommendations to your TBR shelves, we figured that would be an ideal title for our February Mini Challenge. ;-)
All info for the mini challenge can be found HERE. Have fun!
(Co-)Captains, your spreadsheets will be updated with a new sheet for the mini challenge within the next 24 hours.

The Silk Roads: A New History of the World by Peter Frankopan

Loooong audio, wow o.O
As long as it's good, enjoy! :-)
And yes, it does seem to have more of a purplish tinge to it.

How am I meant to help with this AND do Cutthroat AND finish SRC AND not go bonkers?!"
I think that last part you can scratch right away ;-)

How am I meant to help with this AND do Cutthroat AND finish SRC AND not go bonkers?!"
But you know, looking over the recommendations, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to make one or the other book fit for recommendations as well. At least the second part leaves a lot of room for interpretation so don't despair quite yet :-)

I'd had in mind to start it today, but I'll hold off till tomorrow.
Q: are we allowed to read from our our team recs?

That's the best reactions for this kind of challenge haha :-))

I'd had in mind to start i..."
Nope, it's teams other than our own.
And sure thing, we can make Mensa fit! I have been meaning to finish the Cut & Run series for a while now (I only have the last book left), so I could read that one for the mini challenge.
If the two of us read those two books, then that would already take care of the first part of the challenge for 1 team - not bad! :-)

Why thank you :-D
And yes! All our base colour cards are taken care of, and one of our Wild Draw 4 is currently being read for (with a duplicate of a 5 Blue). That leaves ONE, ONLY ONE Wild Draw 4 card we still have to read for. *phew*
If anyone has a coloured cover, please go for it! :-)
You can duplicate any one of these:
- 3 Red
- 1 Yellow
- 8 Red
- 1 Red
- 8 Blue
- 9 Blue
Also, Savana, if you don't feel up for reading Girl with a Dragon Tattoo this month (you're dedicated to your series after all hehe), then please let us know soonish so we can cover the 1 yellow with something else. Thanks! :-)
