Just finished listening to I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella.

4/5 Stars
Really adorable story

Keri Phillips | 167 comments finished The Chamber by John Grisham. Ive read it before, but it is still a tough topic to read. And the book is so much better than the movie...

message 6: by Keri (new)

Keri Phillips | 167 comments Ok. forgot 2. I read The Origin by Dan Brown. Not a bad read, but i have to say i was disappointed. The beginning was good, but the ending was predictable and blah, in my opinion. Then I read Night Circus. That was a really different and fun read. I couldnt put it down.

Finished listening to Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray today! 5/5 Stars! An awesome, creepy series. I laughed, cried, and stressed during the whole book.

This one has me dying to get my hands on the fourth one, but who knows when it will be published. :/

I hate reading series that are not fully published for that reason lol. I hate to wait!!

Keri Phillips | 167 comments I just finished listening to Harry Potter, Order of the Phoenix. I know I've said it before, but if you are curious about audiobooks, but not sure they are for you, PLEASE try these. This narrator is amazing.

I should probably listen to them! It's my first time reading the books and I've only read the first one so far. I go through audiobooks much faster :D

Me. TOO!!! So frustrating!!! It seems like this always on a cliffhanger. lol

Keri Phillips | 167 comments I just finished listening to Sleeping Giants. It was something that was different from my norm (sci-fi). The whole book was done in a series of interviews. You never find out who the interviewer is or what his role is in the whole story, but I really got sucked into this. The ending was really good and had a total twist in the last chapter. It wasn't too "far out", so I really enjoyed it and have the 2nd one on my hold list in my library :) I would give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Michelle Garrette (bendystitchy) | 34 comments I just finished The Gunslinger by Stephen King. It was good. Heady. But I give it 4/5 stars. I was listening on audiobook and I REALLY had to pay attention. I liked the movie and had watched that first, but I'm interested to see how the rest of King's Magnum Opus turns out.

Its good to see someone else that liked it! It seems some days that everyone slams The Gunslinger for not being "King enough"

Keri Phillips | 167 comments Just finished Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan...

I picked this up because book #3 in this series is a book in a read along in a few weeks. This was a pleasant surprise. Magnus Chase is a teenager with a little bit of "smarty pants". As usual with a Riordan book, I loved how he weaves a story around the mythology. This series focuses on Norse mythology, which I don't know a lot about. I am definitely going to encourage my son to read this.

Keri Phillips | 167 comments I was sick today, so sat and stitched, and listened to Hammer of Thor, Magnus Chase #2. this one was a big let down for me after book #1. I only gave it 2 stars.

In the last couple of days I have finished:

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

United as One by Pittacus Lore

The Backup Plan by Jen McLaughlin

All of hem were 5 star reads for me! :D

message 22: by Keri (new)

Keri Phillips | 167 comments Ok. This last week was a good one.
Throne of Glass
The Zookeeper's Wife
The Good Girl
The Rainmaker
Down Among the Sticks and Bones

Almost all of these were enjoyable for me. Down among the Sticks and Bones is a short story that is second in a series of however many. I am reading it for another group I'm in for science fiction/fantasy awards. The first in the series (can't remember the name) was dark and twisty. This one just went a little too far for me. And quite honestly, I was depressed the whole time I read it and was depressed at the ending. That being said, the writing was fabulous. Go figure.

Michelle Garrette (bendystitchy) | 34 comments Okay, finished Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas. SO. Good. SO frustrating!! But so very good. 4.5/5 stars!

Sharon | 788 comments I joined this group mid-month so did not read the February selections, but am all ready to start on Cinder on Thursday. For February I read:
Faithful
Sheltering Rain
The Ocean at the End of the Lane
Freaks
The Right Time

I'm probably going to ending up finishing Father's Day

All good books! The most uncomfortable one was Sheltering Rain, mostly because the characters were uncomfortable with each other the whole book. But it really held my interest. Faithful was a great story of perseverance and acceptance. The Ocean at the End of the Lane is one I'd love to see made into a movie.
