I'm so excited to be picking for you. However, you know what a time suck going through your shelves is for me because I end up putting most of them on my TBR as well, and I have to take my kids to swimming this AM. But I promise when I get back this afternoon, I'll get your picks up! LOL

Shelby (stang_lee) | 1941 comments Ramneek Here are my picks for you. :) Hope you get some fun reading out of it all.

Authors we are thankful for:
1. Alice in Zombieland (TBR) - Love me some Gena Showalter.
2. Losing Hope (TBR) - She seemed to be an author you've really enjoyed. :)
3. Fantasy Lover (New) - OK little explanation with this one...Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my all time favorite authors, this is NOT my favorite of her books. But it's the first book written in this series and I can't read out of order. It functions almost as a stand alone, but does set up a bit of the world. The series shifts A LOT in the true first book of the series, but I'm that weird person that can't start there and has to read this first so I can't just out and out recommend the other book, and instead feel obligated to recommend this one. Not to say that I didn't enjoy this one, I did, but it's not really the best representation of the rest of the series which is bloody fantastic and one of my all time favorites! Phew!
4. Iced (New) - You've enjoyed the first half of the series so I figured I'd add the next part and Dani's story. :)

Alice in Zombieland (The White Rabbit Chronicles, #1) by Gena Showalter Losing Hope (Hopeless, #2) by Colleen Hoover Fantasy Lover (Dark-Hunter companion novel) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Iced (Fever, #6) by Karen Marie Moning
Books you are thankful for:
1. The Darkest Night (TBR) - Adore this series!
2. Tiger's Curse (TBR) - Such a great YA series! Love the culture pieces to this.
3. Born of Night (New) - Ok so I said she's one of my favorite authors. Totally different series because I'd feel weird recommending two in the same series. :)
4. Pleasure Unbound (New) - Love, love, love!

The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) by Gena Showalter Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga, #1) by Colleen Houck Born of Night (The League, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione
Books you are grateful were recommended to you:
1. Tall, Dark And Dangerous (New) - Fun series in the alpha male military/crime fighting vain. :)
2. A Kiss at Midnight (New) - Super fun twist on the fairy tales
3. Daughter of the Blood (New) - One of my all time favorite series.
4. The Student Prince (New) - I know you don't have any MM books on your shelves, and feel free to ignore this book if the idea doesn't appeal to you or bothers you at all, but this is one of my favorite books and I was stunned by how much I enjoyed it when it was recommended to me. Fantastic twist on the Arthur/Merlin legend.

Tall, Dark And Dangerous (Tall, Dark and Dangerous, #1-2) by Suzanne Brockmann A Kiss at Midnight (Fairy Tales, #1) by Eloisa James Daughter of the Blood (The Black Jewels #1) by Anne Bishop The Student Prince (The Student Prince, #1) by FayJay
Series you can't get enough of:
--The first two are off of your series to continue shelf and the second two are off your TBR but two of my favorite series. :)
1. Clockwork Prince (TBR)
2. Dare You To (TBR)
3. The Warlord Wants Forever (TBR)
4. Lover Revealed (TBR)

Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2) by Katie McGarry The Warlord Wants Forever (Immortals After Dark, #1) by Kresley Cole Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #4) by J.R. Ward

Come Away with Me
Love Comes in Darkness - I really want to get to this one too....buddy read?
NEW-
Clarity of Lines - a great series, funny, sweet and an adorable couple.
Otherwise Alone - short intro into a gritty, action-packed series. This first one is romantic as well as tense.

Vi | 2740 comments Hi Andrasun,

Wow! You really read Everything by an author, huh?! I'm so amazed!! So, you've read some of my favorite authors but not others. Since, your TBR has only 10 books, I've given mostly New To You recs.

Authors we are thankful for:
Feed by Mira Grant - I'm not a big fan of zombies but I'm really glad I picked this up. While there are zombies, they are not the main character here. An awesome trilogy.
Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs - Patricia Briggs has two series set in the same world and I prefer this to the Mercy Thompson series. You have to read the short story - On the Prowl.
Dangerous by Amanda Quick - You've read Julia Quinn but not AQ. She's sort of inspiration for Julia Quinn (one of the reasons why she chose Quinn so that it will be shelved near Quick)
Gone by Michael Grant - So many friends have loved this series but I haven't yet read this.

Books you are thankful for:
The Grand Sophy by Georgette Heyer - Another author that you just have to read
Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta
Silver Lining by Maggie Osborne
Cinder by Marissa Meyer - From your TBR

Books you are grateful were recommended to you:
Written in Red by Anne Bishop - I'm so glad so many people rec'd this to me over and over again. When I finally got to it last week, I enjoyed it so much that it made my favorites of the year.
Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles - Another sure-favorite.
Indiscreet by Carolyn Jewel - An author I haven't heard of but picked it up based on blog reviews.
Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover by Sarah MacLean

Series you can't get enough of:
Two of my favorite UF series that you haven't read (yet). Both the series take the first book to set up the world (and hence are the weakest) but they just become better and better. Highly reccommended.
Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire
Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews
Darling Beast by Elizabeth Hoyt - Since you've read the other books in the series, maybe you should continue with this one too.

Hope you like your recs. If you don't, please let me know!

Not a problem, Sassy! I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with for me (I know it'll be great!) but it's a slow morning around here, and I'm at least a couple of time-zones behind you, too. I can be patient, I know I can! =P

Nancy H | 1097 comments Hi Larissa,
Hope you can find some good reads here! I've looked over your shelf and there seem to be a lot of good things there, even though I've not read a lot of your authors. (I may be adding some of them to my own TBR, though, because they look so good.) I've picked some that I think you will like; if not, let me know and I can easily find more picks for you!

Authors: I like Lisa Kleypas, so I picked Somewhere I'll Find You. We also share a liking for Kristen Ashley, so I am suggesting you read these or any of her others on your TBR: Rock Chick Renegade, For You, Knight

Books: I love this mystery/romance/ghost series by Carolyn Haines, and based on what I've seen with 5 stars on your Read list, I think you might like it, too. The first one is Them Bones, and they just keep getting better from there!
You have given 5 stars to Cara McKenna's books, so I am picking two more for you: Ruin Me, and Willing Victim.

Grateful: A local librarian recommended this one to me, and based on your lists, it seems like you might like it too: Midnight Crossroad.
The Darynda Jones series was recommended to me during one of the PIFM months, and I see that you liked the earlier ones in this series, so I am suggesting Third Grave Dead Ahead.

Series: We both seem to be enjoying this series, so I suggest the next one: Screwdrivered. You are also enjoying the Nalini Singh series, so how about Heart of Obsidian?

Happy Reading!

LaurLa | 4942 comments November 2014 PIFM For Karen F

This was kind of hard this month - narrowing down to favorites, I mean!! I hope you enjoy. Please let me know if you need any re-picks :-)

Authors we are thankful for:
NEW: Crazy for You Jennifer Crusie: You have read a few of hers but this is a backlist and one of my favorite’s by Ms Crusie. (I chose an older pback edition cover cuz I just like it better!)
TBR: Wicked Nights Gena Showalter: A favorite author for both of us. You have this new series starter on your TBR. I’ve read it and really liked it not as dark as the Lords of the Underworld series.
Crazy for You by Jennifer Crusie Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1) by Gena Showalter

Books you are thankful for:
NEW: Embattled Hearts J.M. Madden: Truth be told, anything picked this month would be among my favorite books but this new-ish series caught my heart this year. I think the author does a tremendous job with her Hs and how they each handle PTSD. She has donated a portion of her proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project (not sure if it’s an ongoing thing), which I really respect. There is a prequel that kind of introduces some of the characters and the series premise, but it’s not really necessary to this book. But I highly recommend it also ;-)
TBR: Becoming Miss Becky Shannon Stacey: I love Shannon Stacey. Normally I wouldn't recommend ‘series books out of order but I actually liked this book more than the first of the 2-book series, but really, you couldn't go wrong with either one.
Embattled Hearts (Lost and Found, #1) by J.M. Madden Becoming Miss Becky (Gardiner, Texas, #2) by Shannon Stacey

Books you are grateful were recommended to you:
NEW: I'll Be Your Drill, Soldier Crystal Rose: This was recommended to me by Katie last October my first month in RRRC and my first PIFM challenge. I'm still grateful for this pick because I’d never read (or considered reading) M/M before and this was an awesome rec for that genre (ignore the horrible, cheesy title and cover). It was sweet, romantic, a little edgy and taught me to not be scared of trying a new genre (through a good rec, that is!). I’m still not a fan of M/M but I’m grateful to have read this one.
TBR: Backstage Pass Olivia Cunning: This series starter was also rec’d to me by Katie during my first PIFM challenge. It opened me to other new genres/subgenres rockstars and NA. Still not a fan of most NA books but I do like this series and author.
I'll Be Your Drill, Soldier by Crystal Rose Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour, #1) by Olivia Cunning

Series you can't get enough of:
NEW: Long Hard Ride Lorelei James: You have a couple Lorelei James on your TBR, but not this series. She has finished this series (in spectacular fashion in my opinion) but I wish it didn't have to end (although there is supposed to be a spin-off series :-D). I think she got better as an author as the series progressed but this first book is still a re-read for me.
TBR: Biting Cold Chloe Neill: You have longer series both read/unread on your shelves, but I picked this one because it’s one of the few in the genre that I've actually read (or started to read) and it’s the next in the series for you. I did enjoy the first book and want to read the entire series but I have sooooo many series going right now that I've held off on that glomm. Barely!
Long Hard Ride (Rough Riders, #1) by Lorelei James Biting Cold (Chicagoland Vampires, #6) by Chloe Neill

Nancy - OMG! I was reading through some of the picks and saw yours for Larissa - I love LOVE the Carolyn Haines series! None of them are on my shelves because I read them all awhile ago in paperback before joining GR and never seemed to have added them to my read shelf. But I agree it is an awesome series - one I allowed myself to get distracted from. So I thank-you for bringing it to light for me again :-D

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4163 comments Ok, ~KarenH~ the wait is over!!! Here are my picks for you. And I'm not that far behind your last post, so I'm hoping you're still by the computer...

Authors We Are Thankful For:

Sophie Oak:I kind of stumbled onto this author and she's become one of my favorite erotica, menage authors of all time. She does great m/m/f and BDSM but she knows how to make a great STORY with all that sex. So, in honor of her, I'm recommending Three to Ride (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #1) by Sophie Oak Three to Ride, the first in a series about a very quirky town. I love Bliss, Colorado. I'd love to go there one day. Of course, I know it's not real, but still.

Lisa Marie Rice: It looks like you've read A LOT of her stuff and have really enjoyed it. She also happens to be the FAC for the month of November, so it's a great way to fulfill two challenges with one book I recommend Midnight Vengeance (Midnight, #4) by Lisa Marie Rice Midnight Vengeance

Books You are Thankful For:
Circle of Change by Laney Cairo Circle of Change: This is one of those books that really changes you (no pun intended). It was brilliantly written, felt so real it hurt, and is a book that I have never ever forgotten. I really hope that you enjoy it as much as I did

Simple Need (Simple Need, #1) by Lissa Matthews Simple Need: Ok, I'm going to go in a totally different direction, but I had to recommend this one when I saw it on your TBR. Short, hot, and dirty (and ok, yeah, sweet too). I thought this was an excellent erotic short. Vinter is still the bad of my dreams. There have been a few who have come close, but he still retains the title. :)

Books You Are Grateful Were Recommended:

Alpha (Alpha, #1) by Jasinda Wilder Alpha: A goodreads friend of my mine recommended this for me and I read the blurb and instantly knew I had to read it. I listened to it on audio and it was really good, such an intriguing premise.

Between Sinners and Saints by Marie Sexton Between Sinners and Saints: Whenever anyone asks me for recommendations to get them into m/m, I always recommend this book. It is so wonderfully written, the characters are just real and flawed just like we all are, and it really made me just feel so hopeful by the end of it. So wonderful.

Series You Can't Get Enough Of:
Rough Riders: Gone Country (Rough Riders, #14) by Lorelei James Gone Country this is one of my favorite series since I got back into reading. I'm sad that it's come to an end, but I can truly say that I enjoyed every second of it.

On Dublin Street: We've had this discussion before. I can't say that I've liked on book over the other, it's the series as a whole that is just such a favorite of mine (and yours too), go ahead and take the plunge with this next book in the series. If you want, I'd love to buddy read it with you. Echoes of Scotland Street (On Dublin Street, #5) by Samantha Young Echoes of Scotland Street

And because both of these series were already on your TBR, I'm going to give you something new...

Marked Men: I got into this series because the audio was on lend at the library, but now I'm 5 books in, and I can truly say that I'm hooked. It all started with Rule (Marked Men, #1) by Jay Crownover Rule, the misunderstood bad boy, and I just stayed hooked from there. If you try it, I can't wait to hear what you think.

Ok, so there are your picks. I really hope you have something there you'd like to read. Happy November!

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 1099 comments Hi Diane ~Firefly~!

I had fun poking through your shelves. We have some of the same favorite authors so I hope I've picked some things you like.

Authors You're Thankful For

New: Mr. Impossible by Loretta Chase - Loretta Chase is one of my favorite authors and this is my desert island book by her. I see that you like the old "single word title" Amanda Quick books (me too!) and this one has that kind of sparkle.

TBR: Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews - Coming out this week by one of your favorite authors. I'm very excited about it and need something while waiting for the next Kate.

Bonus: A Lot like Love by Julie James - we're in the humor group and no one writes contemporary smart people banter like Julie James. I didn't love the first one in this series but from this one on, they're some of my favorites.

Mr. Impossible (Carsington Brothers, #2) by Loretta Chase Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy, #1) by Ilona Andrews A Lot like Love (FBI/US Attorney, #2) by Julie James

Books You're Thankful For

New: The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt - I love this book so much that I get incoherent. I enjoy all Elizabeth Hoyt but this one holds a special place in my heart.

TBR: Kindling the Moon by Jenn Bennett - I see that you enjoy some of the same UF series as I do and I think this one doesn't get enough love. Interesting take on demons and a romance that leads to one of my favorite couples. And no never ending series - it's over at book 4.

Bonus: The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn - Speaking of one of my favorite couples I adore Kate & Anthony's story.

The Raven Prince (Princes Trilogy, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt Kindling the Moon (Arcadia Bell, #1) by Jenn Bennett The Viscount Who Loved Me (Bridgertons, #2) by Julia Quinn

Thanks for the Recs!

New: Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson - This isn't romance but I see that you've liked other epic fantasies. This is a great one that has a great magic system, a loveable band of rogues and the beginning of a kicka$$ heroine with a sweet romance.

TBR: Ready Player One by Ernest Cline - again not romance but fun, fun, fun.

Bonus: Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda Jones - I had let this series slip and got a push to read this one in a PIFM. It became my favorite of the series.

Mistborn The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1) by Brandon Sanderson Ready Player One by Ernest Cline Third Grave Dead Ahead (Charley Davidson, #3) by Darynda Jones

Thanks for the Series!

New: Her Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen - I saw that you like cozy type mysteries as well. This is one of my faves. It's got a nice romance running through it and if you do audio the narrator is terrific.

TBR: Unbinding by Eileen Wilks - I've been meaning to get to this series and I see that you've rating the others very highly. Another new one, just out this month so here's your excuse to get right to it.

Bonus: Play of Passion by Nalini Singh - I think I rec this nearly every PIFM. But I just love this series, like so many the first book isn't the greatest but the world building grows so much from there, while still keeping the focus on some great romance.

Her Royal Spyness (Her Royal Spyness Mysteries, #1) by Rhys Bowen Unbinding (World of the Lupi, #11) by Eileen Wilks Play of Passion (Psy-Changeling, #9) by Nalini Singh

I hope you find something you like! Let me know if you need any re-picks. Happy reading!

Wow, great picks, Sassy! If it weren't for other challenges getting in my way, I could totally see myself reading them all. The only problem with them is they're messing up my plans for next month, since I really want to read some that weren't already in my plan for the month! ;-) I've already put myself on wait lists at the library for 2 of the new to me picks, and both should be available for next month, so I need to do some rearranging...and I'd love to buddy read Echoes of Scotland Street with you - it's on my current M&G list, so I'll definitely be reading it next month!

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1504 comments Raine

We don't have a lot in common, so I hope you like your picks. Since we were in the humor sub-group, most of the new picks lean that way.

Authors we are thankful for:
My favorite author is Jayne Ann Krentz (she also writes as Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle) so I'm giving two recommendations here, depending if you'd prefer contemporary or historical. One of my favorite things about her books is the heroines always are smart and willing to fight for what they believe in and the heroes are take charge without being cavemen. Copper Beach or Crystal Gardens

You seem to really enjoy Kristen Ashley, so I'm going to recommend Fairytale Come Alive. I haven't read any of this series yet, but I did pick it up recently.

Copper Beach (Dark Legacy, #1) by Jayne Ann Krentz
Crystal Gardens (Ladies of Lantern Street, #1) by Amanda Quick Fairytale Come Alive (Ghosts and Reincarnation, #4) by Kristen Ashley

Books you are thankful for:
Jennifer Crusie is my go-to for humor and quirky characters. These two are my favorites by her - Bet Me which has some misunderstandings, amazing Italian food true love winning in the end or Agnes and the Hitman which is a bit quirkier and has more death, destruction and frying pans in it.

I found Wicked Pleasure by Nina Bangs on your TBR and I really enjoyed that series. There is definitely lots of humor and a bit more passion than my previous picks.

Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie Wicked Pleasure (Castle of Dark Dreams, #2) by Nina Bangs

Books you are grateful were recommended to you:
Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison was recommended to me a few years ago and I went in expecting an average book and ended up loving it. The humor, mystery and hot alpha dragon shapeshifers make for an amazing tale.

Lumberjack in Love by Penny Watson is a sweet short love story I read recently after a recommendation and Knight after Night by Jackie Ivie is one of my current Oct PIFM options that looks up your alley.

Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison Lumberjack in Love by Penny Watson Knight after Night (Vampire Assassin League, #1) by Jackie Ivie

Series you can't get enough of:
I'll suggest the Dark Hunters series by Sherrilyn Kenyon which really begins with Night Play. The heroes are all damaged in some way or another and there is some Greek mythology throughout.

On your shelves I noticed you seem to like both these series, so why not check out the next book in each - Cursed by Evangeline Anderson or A Voice to Love by Karolyn James

Night Play (Were-Hunter, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Cursed (Brides of the Kindred, #13) by Evangeline Anderson A Voice to Love (Fallen Tuesday, #1; Brothers of Rock, #6) by Karolyn James

Extra Thanksgiving Themed picks:
One of my favorite cozy mystery series starts with The Diva Runs Out of Thyme by Krista Davis or the aptly named Thanksgiving by Janet Evanovich

The Diva Runs Out of Thyme (A Domestic Diva Mystery, #1) by Krista Davis Thanksgiving by Janet Evanovich

KarenF - thanks for the amazing picks! I am very intrigued and can't make up my mind where to start.

MountainKat | 30345 comments OK Sassafrass, here are your picks - I hope they were worth the wait!! Your shelves are dangerous - it was all I could do not to go check out all the new shiny books!

Authors we are thankful for: Samantha Young is an author that is a favorite of both of ours, we've discussed how much we both love her work several times! I'm pretty sure up next for you in the Dublin Street series is Echoes of Scotland Street. I'm reading that in November too, you picked it for me in the M&G! Buddy read maybe? Another favorite of mine is an author that is doesn't look like you've read yet, Laura Kaye. When I start another book by her, I feel similar to how I feel when I start a Samantha Young book - I can't help but think how much I love the writing! She isn't as emotional, but I have enjoyed everything I've read by her. I'm going to give you two choices by her, first Hearts in Darkness - wonderful shorter story!! Or the beginning of a series I'm really enjoying, Hard as It Gets.

Books you are thankful for: What was I thinking?! How can I pick just one or two... I did happen to find some though. I just adore Jill Shalvis' Lucky Harbor series and it looks like you enjoy it too! I'm not sure what book is next for you Forever and a Day or Always On My Mind. Wherever you are you can't go wrong if you go with one of these! Another author/series I love (and you have also rated highly) is Shannon Stacey's Kowalski Family! So I am going to pick Love a Little Sideways, it takes you back into the heart of the family and is a lot of fun too! You don't have to have read Alone with You first especially since it was actually published after LaLS, but you can go with it if you'd rather. =) I was trying to figure out where to recommend some LMR, I guess this is as good a spot as any. I saw that you are going to try to read Into the Crossfire for the FAC. I loved that series! But the first book of hers I read was Midnight Man - it is what got me hooked on her books so I just have to recommend that one too!

Books you are grateful were recommended to you: I have three books for you here. I was recommended two of them in the PIFM and was so glad I went with them! Shaken by Dee Tenorio and Do Over by Mari Carr, both are emotion packed and so amazingly good, even more so when you realize they are as short as they are! And we've talked about this series before too, you need to get caught up! So I'm suggesting Full Moon by Mari Carr for you too!

Series you can't get enough of: I couldn't narrow this one down either! So you are getting several picks - surprise, NOT! =P Cowboy Take Me Away by Lorelei James - wonderful, super sweet, ending to the series I think we both hate to see end! You could go with Short Rides if you'd rather, I don't think you've read it either. Full Throttle by Erin McCarthy - I've really enjoyed this series and it seems you have too! Siren Reborn by Sophie Oak - I need to get back to this series, I really enjoyed the first one, but you obviously love it - read it! And one more, Back to Buckhorn by Lori Foster - I need to get back to this series too!

I hope I didn't mess up your November reading too much! Once I got started, I kept finding more I just had to recommend! I think several of these are lendable, PM me if you are interested. Now if I can just stay out of your shelves because some of your books looked really good...
