Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Roger I had fun looking through your shelves, but also had a little difficulty coming up with recommendations. I did my best to work with your preferred shelf, but I've not read any books/authors on it so I couldn't fit them into the picking categories very easily. Finding new to you books was also difficult, since the first authors that came to mind were already on your read shelves. I hope you enjoy your recommendations. Happy reading!

Authors we are thankful for Laser Visions by Kaje Harper Tabloid Star (Tabloid Star, #1) by T.A. Chase Touched by an Alien (Katherine "Kitty" Katt, #1) by Gini Koch
Laser Visions by Kaje Harper (preferred shelf) -- Kaje Harper is on your favorite author list
Tabloid Star by T.A. Chase (preferred shelf) -- T.A. Chase is also on your favorite author list
Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch (new to you) -- I love Kitty's snarky humor and the secondary characters are just icing on the cake.

Books you are thankful for Cast in Shadow (Chronicles of Elantra, #1) by Michelle Sagara Kushiel's Dart (Phèdre's Trilogy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey Rosemary and Rue (October Daye #1) by Seanan McGuire
Cast in Shadow by Michelle Sagara (your TBR) -- Michelle Sagara/Michelle West is one of my favorite fantasy authors.
Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey (new to you) -- A favorite series of mine. It's a huge book, but I love the court intrigue.
Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire (new to you) -- Intrigued by a short story that comes later in the series, I had to go back and read more. I'm so glad I picked up this first book in the October Daye series. Toby is a changeling (half fae/half human) attempting to avoid notice from both sides, but ends up bound to investigate the murder of a fae countess.

Books you are grateful were recommended to you Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore Laid Bare (Brown Siblings, #1) by Lauren Dane
Graceling by Kristen Cashore (your TBR) -- This was recommended to me in a previous PIFM and I really enjoyed reading it.
Laid Bare by Lauren Dane (new to you) -- No fantasy elements, but I loved the development of the triad between Erin, Todd and Ben.

Series you can't get enough of For Better Or Worse (Bayou Boys, #5) by Chris Cox Sense of Place (Thomas Elkin, #3) by N.R. Walker Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb
For Better or Worse by Chris Cox (your TBR) -- #5 in series you seem to have enjoyed.
Sense of Place by N.R. Walker (your TBR) -- You've given 5 stars to the first two books in this series.
Naked in Death by J.D. Robb (new to you) -- I love this futuristic mystery series from J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts).

It always surprises me or rather shocks me when I meet people who don't like Harry Potter! LOL!! Probably because I am a hardcore fan of the series, and I for one DID NOT enjoy the movies. There was a lot missing. But it's alright. Not everyone loves all the books! :)

I hope you enjoy the books you've picked though! :)
P.S. Read Kate Daniels series. I love it, it started off a bit slow, but it picks up and gets amazing. (I'm always trying to hook people onto this series! LOL!!)

message 231: by Zara's Retreat (last edited Oct 28, 2014 07:03PM) (new)

Zara's Retreat | 932 comments Hi Carla_Collette,

I had fun looking at your very big TBR shelf. I hope you can find something you'd like to read from my selections.

1. Favourite Author:
One of my favourite authors: Kiera Cass - The Elite (N2U book) - I noticed that you have read the first in this series so I thought suggesting the next book in the series for you to read would be a great idea.
Your favourite author: Jill Shalvis - Smart and Sexy (TBR) - You seem to have a lot of books by this author so that made me think she's a favourite of yours.

2. Books thankful for:
The Year of Pleasures (TBR) - When I read this book for my library bookclub I was the only one who liked it. I found it to be a story of hope.
Redeeming Love (N2U author) - I couldn't put this book down when I read it. It was also the second book by this author that I had read. The first book of hers that I read I hated so I was really happy that I enjoyed this one so much.

3. Books grateful for:
Anathema (N2U author) - I'm not a big fan of Amish books in general. However, this author showed me that Amish fiction stories can be really interesting and edge-of-your-seat type writing. I was so grateful to the person who recommended this author to me.
The Memory Keeper's Daughter (TBR) - this was an interesting book. It really touched on a very sensitive subject without it being boring in the process.

4. Series:
I struggled with this category because I'm not the sort of person who reads series a lot. So I hope that you can find something here to read.

Confessions of a Shopaholic (TBR) - I preferred the book to the movie of this one. I felt the movie left out some really fun bits.
The Long Way Home (TBR) - You've already read the previous 9 books in this series so I thought this may be an opportunity for you to finish the series off.

Nancy H | 1097 comments Hi Tina "coffee and books",
I got quite lost in your lists and had a great time browsing! I have picked a few from the shelf you mentioned, as well as a couple that I liked. If you don't find anything here, please let me know and I will be happy to pick many more for you!

Authors we are grateful for: We both seem to enjoy these two authors, so I suggest you read either the ones by them here that are on your list, or whichever other ones by them that you would like: Kristen Ashley -Wildest Dreams and Carly Phillips - Perfect Fling

Books we are thankful for: I really enjoy the whole Stephanie Plum series as well as the others by Janet Evanovich, so I recommend The Job from your list. You liked the first one by Adrianne Lee, so I think you might like Delicious.

Book recommendation to be grateful for: I was really glad someone recommended Wallbanger to me, and I think you might enjoy it. You also liked the first one by Kate Meader, so I am recommending the next one: All Fired Up

Series: We both seem to like both of these authors. You have these on your list, but I suggest you read whichever one is next for you as you go through these series: Once in a Lifetime- Jill Shalvis and Chaos in Death Taken in Death - J.D. Robb

Happy Reading!

I've tried to use your pifm shelf but there are some books that are from your TBR shelf and some that are completely new. I hope you enjoy the books I picked and tell me how it goes! :..."

FYI...I probably won't get to it in November, but I just saw The Education of Sebastian free on Amazon so I picked it up! Maybe I can work it into my reads sometime in December! Thanks!

I had fun looking at your very big TBR shelf. I hope you can find something you'd like to read from my selections.

Thanks, Zara--I've got Smart and Sexy (I do love Jill Shalvis), The year of Pleasures, and The Long Way Home on hold at the library. I'll see what comes in and let you know. Thanks for the picks!

Thanks for the picks Christy. I couldn't find Teacher by Lily White though. Did you mean Her Master's Teacher? And if you don't mind, could you please choose a couple of light-hearted contemporary romances or something please?

Also, the next day, I got Transcendence for $0.99! I had heard about this book previously and seen lots of good things about it, but I'm always hesitant to spend more than $2.99 on a Kindle book unless I KNOW I'm going to like it! I have a few authors I'll pay more for, but they have proven their writing to me! Who can pass up $0.99 though??!! I say that, and that's why I have over 300 books downloaded (free/purchased) to be read! UGH!!!!
