Love & Social Change discussion
Introductions

But, I would like to introduce myself again...My name is Lakshmy Menon Chatterjee...I am an avid read of fiction, biographies, autobiographies, and some non-fiction...My favorite genres are thrillers, drama, and comedy.
I have also recently self-published my first book titled, The Fourth Monkey: Poetry With A Purpose. You can check out my Author page and also look at the Giveaway section - I am giving away three copies of my book!
I hope to post more updates on other group discussions soon...

Just joining and looking forward to being a part of this great community!

It's the story of my own childhood (horrifically tragic, but also hopeful). I use my experiences to work with kids and within the nation on a professional level and just recently decided it was time to share my own story with the world.
Please feel free to check out my amazon page for more information on the book.
I'm looking forward to the discussions here. There is nothing more I like than advocating for social justice in this world!

I'm about to turn 60 and, although I have written for a regional magazine before, I have never had a book published till now. I became a first time published author in November 2014, although I never expected I would be. I probably would not be a published author now had I not had friends who are authors encouraging me to do this. My book, "Confessions from the Pumpkin Patch" is about the personal, social and political turmoil of the 1960's and the lead character's journey toward understanding love.
I have worked as a clinical social worker for 34 years so my work comes out in my work you might say. I am half way through writing my second book. In each book I write from the first person perspective of the lead character (male or female) and each book will trigger the lead character for the next book.
I am completely new to all of this - social media, etc. A month ago I had no idea what Twitter was and had never heard of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. When Jarod Kintz reviewed my book, he connected me also to Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, and I think I will be gland he did. It is a whole new world for me and I look forward to meeting new online friends, and have met a few already. I look forward to viewing and participating in group discussions. Blessings.

I reside in the sunny state of Florida and live not too far from the ocean. I have a daughter of 8 who is my life and makes me a better person each day and I am a student of architecture and design.
I look forward to getting to know you and sharing in our reads.
Have a beautiful day!

As with the main character in my novel The Longest Distance, I have been in constant search of ‘a greater version of me. My novel is part love story, part adventure mystery, and part travel guide for the soul.
What draws me to this discussion group is the emphasis of the people, or masters who have profoundly impacted our lives. Throughout my novel, there are timely messages from people in our own history who guide the reader to something greater.
I am currently learning more about Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and look forward to the discussions in this group. Light to each of your journeys.

i live in east-java right now.
ehmm, if i want to describe my self in one word.. its geek! ar u blimey?

I am Sajith Buvi and the author of The Only Permanent Solution to All Human Problems is the Rational God.
I live in Pittsburgh. All my life I have been searching for the Rational God.
Love is a fascinating human quality. The world can experience true love only if it explores God rationally. Whether we accept religion or not we cannot ignore the fact that religion uses love and God for its growth. Therefore billions of people see religion as a path to love. It would be wonderful if we can approach God rationally. Then love can be expressed as wholeness.

I am the author of DIVINE TRUTHS REVEALED
It is an account of a profound mystical near death experience. At a young age, finding myself very dissatisfied with the Western view of God and religion...I began to seek Him in the Eastern Religions. To my surprise, I found that He had been where I least expected to find Him...all along!
God is sublimely rational and loving. He is the creator and sustainer of an extremely rational, organized and harmonious universe! In my NDE, I was shown that God IS rational love!

The Only Permanent Solution to All Human Problems is the Rational God

My name is Roxanne Angelie San Jose, I am 25 years old from the Philippines and migrated in America at the age of 13.
I am a book author.

Hi all,
I am Pratik Patil, author of my first and recently published book: Pregnancy and Men.
I am born and raised in India. I became the first engineer in a family of doctors and lawyers and holds a master's degree in computer science from the University of Southern California and works in the field of Internet advertising in California.
Night-time writing is my hobby. After my daily job in computers is over, all of family needs are taken care of, and all asleep, I wake up and start writing something that's on my mind. Apart from my computer job and writing, I also enjoy making small videos for fun.
My book is released in paperback so far. Feedback has been good.
But waiting for its release on Kindle on May 1st, 2015.

Hi Gary,
I didn't see your message earlier. Just noticed it. Would you like to read a copy my book, The Only Permanent Solution to All Human Problems is the Rational God?

I've also created a brand new holiday called "Truth in Romance Day." It will take place on June 15th and will bring focus to the importance of being truthful in romantic relationships.
It's a day when all new romantic partners are encouraged to check the identification of their mates and make sure they know the person's actual name and age. It's amazing how many internet daters create dating scams.
The reward for truthful dating is a bubble bath for two. The consequence for lying is a distasteful bar of soap and a quick trip out the door!
Please help spread the word! You can see more information on my blog at .

I live in Charleston SC from Oyster Bay, NY. I look forward to sharing ideas with the group.

My name is Bárbara and I'm from Argentina (I apologize already for any mistake in my use of the english language that you may find in this post).
I study Industrial Engineering and I'm 4 subjects away from getting my degree. In my country the career is 6 years long so you can guess my excitement in being so close to the finish line.
I love reading but currently I am very much inmersed in a project of social change I've recently submitted to a contest the city hall has organised.
The contest's objective is to encourage young people to propose eco-friendly projects. My project consists in selling photovoltaic systems for rural communities in my country that are so dispersed that conventional energy distribution systems aren't economically viable.
Right now we need votes to move on to the next stage and you may collaborate with me by entering in the next link and clicking on Votar (spanish for vote). There you'll find more information on our project.
...
You have to be logged on Facebook or Twitter to vote.
Thank you very much! I'm looking forward to getting my degree and having more free time to read and participate in this group discussions and changing for better the world we live in

My husband and I visited Argentina a few years ago and I found it fascinating.

Whether you make it with your vote or not, I appreciate your good intentions :)
Which places did you visit here in Argentina? There's a lot to see...

I did check out the link and had difficulty with the website. It didn't stay on anything for long and kept flashing which hurt my eyes. I can't read Spanish well enough to read it that quickly. Besides, I'd probably have trouble with that website even if it was in English. Good luck with your project though. And your engineering career.

Thank you Lisa. They are interesting books. I tried to impart some knowledge to my readers while giving them an inspirational story as well.

Oh Lisa, those are great places to visit. If you have the possibility to go again I highly recommend going to the north, where the Iguazu falls are, in Misiones, they are impressive.
And besides not being able to cast your vote, thank you very much for trying, Lisa.

I am an author amongst many other things and launching a brand new book. Would love reviews. The Everyday Lightworker Bible is for everyone and aims to reinvent the whole concept of what it means to be a Lightworker. I believe we are all here to help each other evolve and this book aims to hit that bulls-eye!
I am also the Editor of a brand new magazine the Lightworker Advocate which we are launching through the wonderful Holistic Bliss magazine distribution channels in August. If you would like to contribute please let me know and I can send you more information. We are all about love and social change!

I was kind of surprised to see a group in Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ that cares about the essential things in life. And I'm happy I've found it.

Hi Linda, I am very interested in reading your book! I put it on my want to read list. What inspired you to write it? Personal experience or someone you know? I believe we all have stories to share but many do not have the courage to do so.

hi babs, its nice to know you.. not yet but i am looking forward to read my sister's keeper. after my exams i will read it

Here’s the article that led Anna and me to find one another:

The other is a women's mainstream fiction book entitled Breaking The Silence:
Both of these books were written to help bring meaning and hope into the reader's life as they journey with the main characters of the story. They are testaments to overcoming difficulties in life and find peace and wholeness.
I hope they are of interest to some of you!

Hi! Sounds like we have some things in common with our writing! I'd love to get to know you here!

Barb

Hi Elizabeth,
I wanted to reach out to you as I have a very similar story-- although I arrived at the parsing of my life a little differently. I wrote a nonfiction on post traumatic growth, targeted in a mainstream way, and then I wrote a memoir. Somehow doing it that way helped me to understand clinically what had occurred in my life, and then fueled the actual writing of the story. At any rate, I'd love to read your book, and share mine with you. The nonfiction has been well received by many clinicians (I am also a LMFT), who have found it useful in facilitating growth through trauma.
Look forward to hearing back!
Best,
Claire Nana LMFT

Hi Michelle,
Your book and your magazine sound very interesting! I recently released a nonfiction exploring how we can grow through traumatic experience, and setbacks themselves. As our books sound similar, I'd love to give your a review, and if you'd like, I could send you some information on mine to consider for your magazine. (I'd love to ask for a review, but swapping reviews is typically frowned upon!) As I also blog for Psychcentral, feel free to check out the posts to see if you would be interested in incorporating those. Here is the link to the latest post:
