Charlotte (therampantbookworm) | 2 comments Hello,

Please let me know if there is a more appropriate place to post this.
My post is regarding these two quotes. Both are misattributed.

/quotes/1632...

/quotes/1246...

I believe this misquote quote originates from the 2003 film version of I Capture the Castle.

The full film quote is “There's only the last page left to write on. I'll fill it with words of just one syllable. I love. I have loved. I will love.

Script:

My copy of I Capture the Castle, the book (a second edition from 1948) includes the following quote which ends the novel: “Only the margin left to write on now. I love you, I love you, I love you. The "I love. I have loved. I will love" version does not appear elsewhere in the book.

This article in the Guardian is further evidence that recent publications include the "I love you, I love you, I love you" quote:

I’ve found no evidence of this quote or anything resembling it in either the book or the movie script of Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveller’s Wife. I'm not sure where this misattribution originated.

Book text:
Film Transcript:

Could you please remove these incorrect/misattributed quotes from each authors pages?

Thanks,
Charlotte

Could you please add the book name to this quote? It is "The Poppy Wife: A Novel of the Great War"

Abby Hi! I posted a quote from "The Secret Chord" by Geraldine Brooks, but accidentally put the word "mud" instead of "blood" at one point. I removed it from my quotes, but of course that didn't remove the quote altogether, so when I tried redoing the quote, it just kept saving as what I originally posted. I then tried a longer version of the quote but THIS time I accidentally typed "faced" instead of "face". Could you please just delete both quotes? I'd rather redo it myself. These are the quotes. Thanks!

Anna Adler | 14 comments Hi, could you please delete the two following quotes:

/quotes/1023...

(Meaningless - I have no idea where this came from.)

/quotes/1023...

(Misattributed - this is NOT a quote by me, but by Robert Brault. Again, I have no idea where this came from because I definitely didn't add it.)

Thank you! :)

sam (obsessingovercommas) | 78 comments 11 - I was hesitant to delete so many quotes, but since you're the author of them, I figured it was within your right to request that. I've deleted all but the first two quotes- a super will have to delete those, as they have too many fans for me to delete.
12 - Done, now looking into the many duplicates of this author
13 - Would it be possible to correct the errors rather than completely deleting the quote? We prefer to edit rather than delete. I would correct it myself, but I'm not fluent in Arabic.

Sharon | 5 comments I just added three quotes and meant to add it to the book called "The Verbally Abusive Relationship: How to Recognize It and How to Respond" and instead accidentally added it to something just called "Verbally Abusive Relationship" (which maybe those two books are meant to be merged)?

The last three quotes on this page were added by me /work/quotes...

and I would like them to be moved to this book /work/quotes...

Thanks.

message 19: by Sharon (new)

Sharon | 5 comments By the way, on this page
/work/quotes...

There are three instances of this quote, "“Yelling at living things does tend to kill the spirit in them. Sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will break our hearts."

Not only are there three instances of that quote, but it was Robert Fulghum who said that. The author of this book merely quoted him in her book.

Duplicate requests have been removed. To avoid confusion, please only post requests once. For quotes, that means either a post in this thread OR a (single) separate thread -- not both.

If a day or two have gone by with no reply, it's fine to bump your request up by responding to your own thread. ŷ Librarians are volunteers, and some requests may take some time to get a reply.

aswang7890 | 23 comments Hope someone can help me.

I just added a Henning Mankell quote to my list of quotes. It's at the bottom of my list, page 2: /quotes/list...

But unlike the other Mankell quotes on the list, my quote doesn't have the book title as a link. How do I make the book title a link on mine? I like the link coz it takes you to a list of quotes that were taken from the particular book.

Thanks!

1. the author can change the default edition:

2. Paperback editions use ISBNs. Kindle editions use ASIN. I took the ISBN off of the old Kindle edition and put it on the matching paperback edition as used on Amazon.

3. ŷ adds new covers, but does not delete out of print editions. I think these are straight now, except for making the default edition

And I changed the parenthesis to brackets, because ŷ thinks parentheses in the title field denote a series.
