I finished Fear the Darkness: A Thriller by Becky Masterman at 2.30am this morning! A chilling thriller; I couldn't put it down! An excellent follow up on her first, Rage Against the Dying

. I enjoyed the book, some reviews I read before reading the book were not very positive. That did not stop me from reading it and I enjoyed it; though I would have preferred a better ending.
I finished The Last Frontier by Alistair MacLean this evening, not my favourite of his stories, but still pretty good. Starting my first Simon Brett, Fethering mystery, The Body on the Beach. Happy 2015 everybody.
I finished The Ark of Asylum
. A fictional thriller that is based on the current terrorism scare with World War III thrown in for good measure. Certain citizens exposed to a tampered tear gas become zombie-like in their behavior. Other than the zombies, current events make this thought provoking; and, hopefully, not an accurate prediction of the near future.
I just picked up Murder In Retribution,
and have only read the first few pages. So far, it looks pretty good.
Just finished Christmas at Cliffhanger Inn and getting ready to start Clammed Up.
Last night I finished Before I Go To Sleep - S.J. Watson and now I am reading The Trafficked - Lee Weeks.
I am currently reading Tripwire by Lee Child, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Jack Reacher is on the top of my 2015 to-read list.

I just finished Cards on the Table by Agatha Christie and I think it's my favorite: collaborative effort, Poirot and 3 other sleuths, one of them a crime writer with 'Christie' type insights/opinions that are really funny. Lots of dialog, much happens in the 'now' and backstory coming in later. And here Poirot goes more into the psychology than with other Christie-Poirot novels; who is in character to commit this murder this way. The conclusions and how he sets things up in order to draw those conclusions is intriguing. Very entertaining - and nice to start the year with a fun engaging read!
I did like it. Portions of it were exceedingly scary and portions made me say to myself, "this could happen".
I am reading Double Indemnity and Once in Love with Lilly; this is a novel written by a Good Reads writer, who sent me a copy in April to enjoy and review. I need to contact my book buddy to let her know I have been somewhat under the weather and see what she wants to read and what I should be reading.

. Wow... 10 pages in & it's utterly gripping. May have to read something else in tandem with this to allow me to catch my breath.
Started the new year year with Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde, which was a great read. Still thinking about it days after I finished. In fact I've spent longer thinking about it than it took to read.In an effort to get some books out of the house I've decided that the rest of January will be devoted to James Patterson. So far I've finished NYPD Red, which was good fun. Now making a start on Sail.
So yeah i made it last year to my goal woohoo now going hope i can do it again this year.Right now I am reading Rose Madder by Stephen King read it for a BOTM on Stephen King Fans group on goodreads. I read this before and i liked it but its been a long time since i read it and I forgot about how goood it is. So far i am 250 pages in it. Started to read it on the first.
After I get done on that book I will be reading these

I am about 2/3 of the way through The Accident by Linwood Barclay. This is the 4th book of his that I've read and it does not disappoint. I call this type of book "a neighborhood thriller." Set in suburbia, it puts regular folks in mortal danger. He's really good.When I finish, I'm moving on two other books in the same vein:

I've almost completed Agatha Christie mystery that I've somehow missed over the years: The Secret of Chimneys. I've not read any of her Inspector Battle books before and am having run with it. Next on tap is The Seven Dials Mystery.

It started with an accidental coming upon a copy of [book:Cover Her Face. I think especially with her recent death, people may be wanting to read (or re-read) her books, especially Dalgliesh and possibly also Cordelia. I know I am continuing and keep finding that I wondering if I actually read these before. Because they aren't ringing any bells as I read or listen my way through them.

I read that in December, Catherine, The Seven Dials Mystery, that is. I enjoyed very much. Hope you do too.

Just finished The Accident by Linwood Barclay. This was a 4-star page turner. A true thriller in every sense of the word with a great plot twist at the end. My New Years resolution is to READ MORE LINWOOD BARCLAY.
I just finished A Gun for Sale by Graham Greene. He is the most amazing writer; so much story so well done.
