Dream job if you've every wanted to be a rock star, a book your best friend would like (I'm assuming a friend picked it for your book club), a book about art or an artist (if you include singing an art), a book everyone has ready except you (seemed pretty popular last year), or a past year prompt (I read it for title that caught your attention last year).

It would also fit last year’s prompt of a book by or about a musician.

It was originally published in 1995 and I would think it was a bestseller. Elphie might also have your dream job if you're that way inclined.

Arguments could be made for dark academia and social justice issue.
most obvious past prompts:
A book that is also a stage play or musical
A book about a villain or antihero
A book with magic
A retelling of a classic

[bookcover:Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West|37442..."
thank you for your response!

I've seen mutliple recommend Midnight Library for book on subject you are passionate about, but I'm more than halfway through and I'm not sure what that subject would be! It's not really about books like I thought it would be :/ Let me know if you've read it and what you think? It would probably fit better in book about fresh starts.

I haven't read it, but I do keep seeing it at the shop and it has a black and white cover (for prompt 15).

i have it under
8. A book that has won the women’s Prize for Fiction

Perfect! Thank you :)

I read that last year...very good! You can use it for "a book you saw on someone else's bookshelf".

i'm sorry, i've been mistaken. i thought it was this book An American Marriage. i am just seeing now that you've asked about A Good Marriage.

I finished The Midnight Library last week and thought it qualified for #27, About do-overs or fresh starts, #28, A magical realism book, and #29, Set in multiple countries. It could also work for the more subjective ones, like #30, Set Somewhere You'd Like to Visit in 2021, if the answer is London, Brazil or the Arctic, or a book you meant to read last year (#46).

Hi Deborah, that book is probably set in multiple countries (since the protagonist seems to have been killed abroad), as a watchmaker Corrie might have been a little bit of an artist, and there is certainly something of a "fresh start" in what she did. There is a song called "Hiding Place":
Maybe you'd like to visit the Netherlands in 2021. Fighting for the oppressed is certainly a "civil rights issue" to me. And finally your best friend might like the book.
Plenty of options! :-)

I read it in 2019 for 'novel based on a true story', so you could use this years past challenge prompt. (Alternatively last years 'a book by an author with flora or fauna in their name' would work as well, as the authors name is Heather Morris)
As for this years prompts it's kind of hard to fit in. In my opinion 12 and 39 could be considered 'wildcards', because you could fit pretty much any semi popular book in there. And you have probably seen it on somebody's bookshelf or maybe felt like everybody has already read it.
Hope this helps!

Hi Deborah, ..."
Thanks this was very helpful!

LOL I've thought about using it for that!!! Seems like EVERYONE I know on GR talks about reading that book!!

Hi Deborah, ..."
It was also made into a movie...

I'm planning on reading both Paradise by Toni Morrison and Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton this year and I know they both fit the Best Sellers from the 90s prompts, but wondering if there were any other prompts they might fit so I might stretch them out to fit another prompt if I can? Reading both regardless but always fun to see if they fit elsewhere!

Paradise would fit
10. A best-seller from the 1990s.
15. A book with a black-and-white cover (if you bend it a bit)
17. A book that has the same title as a song (There is one by Coldplay and one by George Ezra)
If you are passionate about Feminism or Race issues it could be 18. A book about a subject you are passionate about
20. A book on a Black Lives Matter reading list (I'm sure you'll find it on one or the other BLM list)
34. A book about a social justice issue
Jurassic Park could be
10. A bestseller from the 1990s
21. A genre hybrid
22. A book set mostly or entirely outdoors#
27. A book about do-overs or fresh starts

I haven't read it but there's a song by Space with the same name

Thank you so much, Nicole!! this was SO helpful! I appreciate this.

There is a song called "Good Things Fall Apart"
There are a lot of family members in the story but I can't remember if it's three generations - I THINK so?
Everyone has read it but you?
And I'm sure you can find it one someone's bookshelf.

"Supernova" and "Champagne Supernova" are both song titles.
Other possibilities: your best friend would like it, or maybe it's about a do-over or fresh start? I have no idea what the plot is, but that seems within the realm of possible.

It's a perfect fit for both body positivity and do-overs/fresh starts.
Talia Hibbert is one of the author's on , so if you interpret that to be a "BLM reading list" then you can fit this book there, too.
The love interest is a painter, so this works for "about an artist." Chloe's mother and grandmother both play peripheral roles, so you could stretch it a bit to be "three generations." And maybe you think your best friend would like it.

To me, the pattern on the cover forms some diamonds, so I would feel comfortable using this for "book with a diamond on the cover"
The plot is a bit confusing, but one could make an argument that it involves "forgetting"
I think I saw it on a celebrity bookshelf at some point this year ... that doesn't help you since I can't remember who it was. Maybe it was posted over in the discussion post for that category.
It could be considered magical realism.
It takes place in two countries, which for me is not enough to qualify as "multiple," but I've seen quite a few readers using two countries to check off the "takes place in multiple countries" category.

I think it would work for social justice or probably a book that everyone else seems to have read

It has three generations. I put it under Family Tree. Do you want to go to Mexico? It could fit there. It also has Magical Realism.

I just finished it. I am putting it under Do-overs or fresh starts. The main character reinvents herself a number of times, also there's a side story about a lost daughter that works.

Those are both great choices!

Pestilence by Laura Thalassa
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honyeman
My star sign is an Aries and the only author of those I could find that information was Feist and... he's not a match lol.
The only prompts I CAN'T use are 2, 39 and 46 as I've already read for them.
