К свету (Метро 2033 К свету #1) by Andrey Dyakov

One of the novels from the Metro 2033 universe not written by Dmitry Glukhovsky. This one isn't set in the Moscow underground, but in post-apocalyptic St. Petersburg. While Glukhovsky's style is quite literature-heavy, the books by Andrey Dyakov feel a lot more like the video games.

Jerry and WendyB, I am really enjoying this book. I love how two disparate stories are slowly being drawn together. I just got to the first meeting between the Jinni and the Golem, and I admit, I squealed just a bit when they met for the first time.
I've had this on my TBR list over on WWE since 2014 when it was beat out for the Locus FN award by Ancillary Justice. Life is short and my TBR list is long... sigh. But it was given to me in a Bossy Book Challenge over at the Apocalypse Whenever group, and I have not regretted that choice made for me at all!

You are a better literary man then me. I just have never been able to get into Lovecraft that much. I guess I should try again, but I'm just not that into his writing style.

message 297: by Badseedgirl (new)

Badseedgirl | 1030 comments I'm not currently reading them right at this moment, but after a 10 minute "pop-in" to my favorite used book store I left with; Ex-Patriots, The Ways We End: Six Tales of Doom, Future Visions: Volume 1, Future Visions: Volume 2, Future Visions, Volume 3. I knew nothing about these books, except Ex-Patriots, which I had read the first book in the series. I know I have a problem, and Melodies Used Book Store is my dealer of choice.

Starting The Fifth To Die (4MK Thriller, #2) by J.D. Barker

A very good series so far... and creepy. Not in a supernatural way, but in a sick and twisted way.

I am always a tiny bit jealous of people who are in the process of reading a book I thoroughly enjoyed. Maybe it's because I know you are enjoying a good story and I have to sort/read through so many mediocrities, ha ha! The Golem & The Jinni was so good I bought multiple copies and gave them out to friends. So far they have all enjoyed this book too! Happy reading, you're in for such a treat of originality!
