Carolyn | 2028 comments You Had It Coming by B.M. Carroll You Had It Coming by AA B.M. Carroll (aka Ber Carroll) is a thoughtful, well written crime novel featuring the murder of a barrister skilled at getting acquittals for those accused of rape. It looks at the repercussions of such trials and the effect on the lives of this involved.

Carolyn | 2028 comments The Twyford Code by Janice Hallett The Twyford Code by Janice Hallett was a really fun read, written as an old fashioned adventure story chasing secret codes and hidden treasure and written entirely as transcripts of voice recordings.

My first finished book of the new year. Dark, disturbing but deeply moving and compelling. Strange holiday reading, but I enjoyed it.

Kerri_M | 778 comments Finished Glass Houses by Louise Penny yesterday, and I think this is my favourite of the series so far.

While maybe stretching credibility in a couple of places, this book really rocks along. I normally ready Penny books fairly slowly because I like to take my time with them to enjoy them, but this one was a read in one sitting, a bit unputdownable type read.
