I read "Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands" by Kate Beaton. It's a fantastic graphic novel recounting her two years working in the Alberta oil sands.

I read These Precious Days by Ann Patchett. It's the current IPR Book Club pick. Everyone seems to love this, but I just... didn't. The first half of the essays absolutely DRAGGED for me but, I warmed up for the second half.

I read LISTS OF NOTE and it was fascinating!

I read the graphic novel Black Dahlia by Rick Geary. The library has several of his graphic novels about unsolved murders. If you like true crime, I'd recommend.

I read "The Houseplant Book" by Melissa Lowrie and the TERRAIN plant team; I think it was on the library's recommended lists of reads for this topic. Really liked it and appreciate how it reaches someone like me who can't keep plants alive, even if they're touted low-maintenance. Photos are beautiful; plant descriptions written for the non-horticulturist. Best layout feature of the book is the sidebar--for each plant--that lists light, water, humidity, soil, fertilizer requirement that should make purchasing the right plant for your home's space easy. LOVE the chapter titled "Unfussy Friends: Low-Light & Low-Maintenance Problem Solvers."
