Peep (Pop! Pop!) You're probably right. Maybe Katniss will just settle. But a gal can dream can't she? Team GALE!

message 52: by Susan (new)

Susan Well, if she was going to settle then yeah, Team Gale! hahahaha

message 53: by Heidi (new)

Heidi You girls are so ADHD. Dreamfever posts should be on the "when you're not reading YA" thread -- where I put it AND Huger Games on the Hunger Games thread . Geez -- what would you people do without me??????

message 54: by Susan (new)

Susan ohhhhh ooops!! Thank you Heidi-hahahaha....we would be lost without you!!

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Heidi wrote: "Geez -- what would you people do without me??????"

Probably still off-topic! But happy though!

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

We may be ADHD but you're OCD, Heidi. ;) And we all just be a mess with you (but then we could talk freely about the series that shall not be named)! LOL

BTW - Team PEETA!!!!!

Heidi Susan wrote: "Well, if she was going to settle then yeah, Team Gale! hahahaha"

I just saw this ... SETTLE???? I think not!

message 58: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) LOL. You gotta admit she'd be settling. Peeta's safe. She's a dominant girl and he'd do anything for her. Settle!

Sheila (sheilaj) I just joined this group and thought I would jump right in and post my first message.

I just finished a YA book called Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carman . Sometimes I find it a really nice break to read a YA book or series. I've read some of the Lemony Snickett books as well as the first of the 39 Clues series.

The book Skeleton Creek is unique as throughout the book clues are given and you go online to view videos that provide more clues. Then at the end of the book you can continue investigating by joining the facebook thread. I thought it was a pretty cool way to get people involved.

message 63: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Welcome Sheila!

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Sheila! Skeleton Creek sounds interesting!

message 65: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) Thanks Heidi it is good to be here. I hope to become an active member

message 66: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) I just went on fantasticfiction.com and it looks like book 1 of the series is called Trackers although it hasn't been released yet. How does that work that I just read book 3 of a series and book 1 isn't released yet. My feeble mind can't get around that one.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Welcome Sheila, I'm sure you will become as addicted to this group as I have. It's pretty difficult to resist.

I'm right there with you regarding the whole Book one not being out yet... hmmm

message 68: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Sheila I did some digging and it looks like Trackers is a different book. It will be part of a new series called Trackers - they said think of it as Skeleton Creek 2.0.

message 69: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) Thanks Peep I guess fantasticfiction.com had it wrong! OMG!

ff is my premier source for book info but Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ is giving it a run for its money!

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

Twilight, Twilight, Twilight...

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments It doesn't matter, just say you loved it to annoy Heidi. That's really the end goal here right?

Brittany wrote: "It doesn't matter, just say you loved it to annoy Heidi. That's really the end goal here right?"

You've got it! BTW, New Moon was a BIG improvement over Twilight.

message 73: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Uggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

New Moon, New Moon, New Moon...

Just imagine what I'm going to be like in June when Eclipse comes out. You'll still love me, won't you, Heidi? After all, I read and loved The Help!

message 75: by Susan (new)

Susan EDWARD EDWARD EDWARD--Sheila are you Team Edward too?? LOL

Susan wrote: "EDWARD EDWARD EDWARD--Sheila are you Team Edward too?? LOL"

I love it!

message 77: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments NO! Jacob! ;-D

message 78: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) Well since I'm old enough to be their mom older sister I feel like a pervert/cougar but I guess I would find Jacob the more attractive. Edward is just too pasty for my taste. I actually just don't get the whole attraction to the vampire thing although I have enjoyed the Queen Betsy series.

message 79: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Queen Betsy is the BEST!

message 80: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Sheila - I am right there with you about not being attracted to vampires. It's just not my things.

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

While I love Edward more than Jacob and wanted Bella to be with him throughout the whole series, my true infatuation is with Rob Pattinson himself. I can live with the pastiness though. ;)

Oh, for the record, I'm not quite old enough to be a cougar yet. :) Finding younger men attractive is not perverted, it just means we're ALIVE.

P.S. Jacob, aka Taylor Lautner, would be way more attractive to me if he grew about 6 inches.

message 82: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) I just finished The Lightning Thief on audio. I liked it a lot. What is next in the series?

message 83: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Sheila wrote: "I just finished The Lightning Thief on audio. I liked it a lot. What is next in the series?"

Sea of Monsters!
The whole series is fabulous!

message 84: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Sheila - I tried Lightning Thief on audio, but it was no Harry Potter. It was a good book, but I thought it would be best for kids like my 11 year old nephew, so I bought it for him.

message 85: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) I agree it wasn't Harry Potter but enjoyable. I've been reading Ligtning Thief with my 7 year old grandson who's last name is Jackson which makes it even more exciting when he reads about his cousin Percy. I am trying really, REALLY hard to instill the joy of reading in my grandsons. I think the Wii will always win out though.

message 86: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments I am reading Igraine The Brave Igraine The Brave by Cornelia Funke with my 7-yr old daughter. :-)

message 87: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Bluemoon wrote: "Sheila: I love Percy Jackson Series, well the two that I read, but I like Harry Potter better although it's in a category all on its own."

Bluemoon- You should finish the series. It is one of the finales that I actually enjoyed :)

And yes, Harry Potter is a league of its own.

message 88: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I think, for me at least, Harry Potter was one of those rare books that everyone of any age could love. I did not get that same feeling for Percy Jackson, but I could def. see younger people loving the series. Either way - I think it is great kids (and adults) are reading well written stories that teach you things along the way.

Hm- I think that Percy Jackson could be enjoyed by anyone... He gets older throughout series and I think that would help older students want to read it.

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Bluemoon wrote: "Percy Jackson could be enjoyed by everyone if they like YA books, but Harry Potter can be enjoyed even if they are not YA fans.

I do intend to read all the books just need a breather in between series books."

I can see that Bluemoon.
I guess I am biased :)

message 91: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments I read all of HP and loved them.. as for the Percy Jackson series I read the first 2 and enjoyed them, but by the 3rd I got bored.

message 92: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Hey - I didn't want to start an argument about Percy! I just didn't feel the urge to read any further after the first book, so I can't judge the series as a whole. Anyway,as I said,I think it is great when people love reading and find a series they really enjoy. I come in peace :)
