Lenore (lenorenrr) This challenge is all about the holidays. You would be surprised how many their are in April! Some are quite silly--and yes they are all actual holidays--but they worked very well for the challenge :)

April 1st: April Fool’s Day: Read a book focused on humor (Ex. Chick Lit)
April 3rd: Find a Rainbow Day: Read a book with at least 2 colors pronounced in the cover, or a book with a very bright cover.
April 4th: Easter: Read a new author or series.
April 7th: No Housework Day: Spend at least 4 hours reading (Must be done in a single day. (Tell how many hours you read, which book, and what the date was.)
April 7th: World Health Day: Read a book where one of the characters is a doctor (Tell which character)
April 9th: First Library Opened: Read a book either checked out from a library, borrowed from a friend, or recommended to you.
April 14th: Titanic struck the iceberg: Read a book that ends in tragedy.
April 17th: Sherlock Homes B-Day: Read a mystery
April 27th: Tell a story day: Read a book and give your own synopsis of the book and a short review.

Lenore (lenorenrr) Yeah The Last Song will work. It can be any genre that ends without and HEA. Not an ongoing series but either a stand alone, or the series does not follow one character.

Does the Nightside series need to be read in order?

message 26: by Lily (last edited Apr 03, 2010 08:50PM) (new)

Lily (lilithesque) Lenore *--*Phierce*-- * wrote: Does Nightside series need to be read in order?
I think it would be best...but the books are fairly self contained. I have been reading them in order and more is revealed about who he is-which is nice-in each book. They are gritty paranormal mysteries so they probobly hold up out of order pretty well though.

message 27: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) Good to know. I am usually pretty good at picking up things in books. The first just did not get good reviews so I would rather jump to the one that sounds interesting.

Lily (lilithesque) 3/9 Complete
1. humorous "Changes" Jim Butcher
2. rainbow cover “Demon Inside Stacia Kane (5 colors)
3. new author “Skin Game by Ava Grey (4/4/10) *** I liked it. I liked the flawed and outlaw charicters and how the romance developed. The paranormal element was pretty fresh and the action was good. Will read the next.
4. read 4 hours - “Fire Raiser by Melanie Rawn
5. doctor “Personal Demons Stacia Kane (She’s a psychologist) (4-10-10)**** Funny, sexy, different take on demons, hot sex tension and sex scenes, and even kind of spooky in spots.
6. library : “Bite the Bullet"-A crimson moon novel (# 2) L.A. Banks
7 tragedy: Nightingales Lament(Nightside #3) Simon Green (4-2-10) **** LOVED it.
