This thread is for the reader who geninuely has no idea what to read next out of her/his pile.

This is how it works: You post a short list of books you might want to read, and your fellow member suggests one of those books to read. It will probably be helpful to give a short description of the kinds of books you like to read, and what you're looking for in your next read, what your mood is. You don't have to take the suggestion, but it might help to get past that reader's block.

Lucy Qhuay Hey buddies! :)
I really don't know what to read next.
I am really in the mood to read anything good but I don't really like slutty heroines.
I would really appreciate your help.
I have a few books I'm curious about:
White Tigress (Tigress, #1) by Jade Lee Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1) by Gena Showalter Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Minion (Vampire Huntress Legend, #1) by L.A. Banks Acheron (Dark-Hunter, #12) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Thanks!:)

Hi Lucy. Slave to Sensation is very good. It's an intriguing mix of paranormal and science fiction. I'd recommend that.

Acheron and Slave to Sensation are phenomenal! No slutty heroines in them if you don't like them. But aside from that, both books are amazing! I can't say for the rest because I haven't read them. :)

message 5: by Lucy Qhuay (new)

Lucy Qhuay Thank you Danielle and Ashley! I'll definitely star with Slave to Sensation then :)

Fil (magab64) | 85 comments I recently re-read slave to sensation and loved it, and now reading the 2nd in the series. Real good!

message 10: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 8 comments Hello Ladies!! New to the group here. I am an....obsessive....reader. I seriously tear through on average close to 15-20 books a week (most of them being around 300-400 pages long, but if I throw in something longer-like Terry Goodkind's 1000 page long novels, they keep me occupied for a few days) Anywho, been on a romance tangent for a little while (newly single UGH) and I've totally hit a brick wall for new material!!! I have devoured just about every suggestion that friends have given me and need a new direction to take. Positively LOVE Kresley Cole's stuff (I've read everything she's ever written now LOL including the new Lothaire book) so I'm looking for something along those lines. Any suggestions??? I would be ECSTATIC to have a little help! Thanks!

Hi Jessica. If you like IAD, you would probably like Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld. She has a good mix of sex, humor, and dark content.

Also Larissa Ione's Demonica series, although it's quite dark. There is some humor though.

The Darkest Night--1st LOTU book
Pleasure Unbound--1st Demonica book

message 13: by Breeze (new)

Breeze I read a page from The Darkest Night. Could anyone tell me if it is close to, better or worse than JR Ward Brotherhood series?

message 14: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Loves 'Em Lethal (last edited Sep 05, 2012 07:32PM) (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 9851 comments Mod
Hilary, I don't think you can compare them, honestly. Yes, they are both about brotherhoods, but not much similarity otherwise. Just my opinion.

They both have the First Book Syndrome going on though.

message 15: by Kelleigh (last edited Sep 06, 2012 08:53AM) (new)

Kelleigh (goodreadscomsunshine2047) It's not paranormal or urban fantasty - but I seriously LOVE anything by Kristen Ashley -

Start with her Rock Chick Series - Steamy romance and hot alpha males! mmmm

: )

Good luck!

Glad to hear it, Jessica. That series can be hard to put down. I made myself take a break because I didn't want to buzz through all the books too fast.

message 18: by Breeze (new)

Breeze Anyone a fan or have an opinion on RG Alexander series?
I;m still in withdrawls from the Fever Series KMMoning and have tried some other stories but still looking(reading)for that book style, one long story over several books. Unlike a series where each book is different with overlapping characters.
THank you,
Jerricho Barrons is hard to let go!

Hilary, I'm right there with you! I love a series that stays with the same couple. I become so invested in them, and it's hard to put down the last book. Have you read the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews? It's UF also, and has a slow burning romance like Mac and Barrons.

Sally (Lucia7) | 25 comments Just finish lover reborn Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward . Now I don't know what to read. Was hoping to move from vamps to wolfs. Read all of Patricia Briggs books Mercy Thompson was looking for something like that but with more of a love story. Any suggestions?

message 34: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) | 1084 comments Mod
Have you read Briggs' Alpha and Omega series, Sally?

For something similar to the Mercy books, I really enjoy Eileen Wilks' World of the Lupi series, starting with Tempting Danger. It has a great love story along with a lot of action!

message 35: by Sally (new)

Sally (Lucia7) | 25 comments Hey Megan
I love the Alpha & Omega Series!

Charles is soo Yummy! Tempting Danger sounds good is it more like Mercy or Aplha?

message 36: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) | 1084 comments Mod
I would say maybe a little closer to the Alpha and Omega series, because Rule and Lily are a mated pair similar to Charles and Anna. There's lots of action, though, and every magical creature you can think of.

message 37: by Sally (new)

Sally (Lucia7) | 25 comments Thanks Megan!

Sounds Perfect!!!! Can't wait to start!

message 38: by Shay (new)

Shay (shaylyn318) | 10 comments I am in a funk and hate it. I don't know what I want to read next. I know I don't want something deep. I am needing something lighter, sexy. There are a lot of series I haven't started yet but want too. Something that moves along fairly quickly. I hate when books drag on and in this blah mood I am in that would be the last thing to help.

message 39: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Loves 'Em Lethal (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 9851 comments Mod
Which authors do you consider favorites? Can you list some of your favorite books, Shay? That will help me to make a suggestion. Thanks!

message 40: by Shay (new)

Shay (shaylyn318) | 10 comments Honestly, whatever. I am willing to try new authors. I like my books to have romance in it. Some authors I really like are Diana Gabaldon and Jeaniene Frost. Karen Marie Moning, I have only read her highlanders series though.

message 41: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 39 comments Are you only looking for PNR or UF.
Cause if you are looking for something with lots of humor but is more romance with damsel in distress I would highly recommend Kristen Ashley's Rock Chick or Dream Man series.
Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley Rock Chick Rescue (Rock Chick, #2) by Kristen Ashley Rock Chick Redemption (Rock Chick, #3) by Kristen Ashley Rock Chick Renegade (Rock Chick, #4) by Kristen Ashley Rock Chick Revenge (Rock Chick, #5) by Kristen Ashley Rock Chick Reckoning (Rock Chick #6) by Kristen Ashley Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick, #7) by Kristen Ashley Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley Wild Man (Dream Man, #2) by Kristen Ashley Law Man (Dream Man, #3) by Kristen Ashley Motorcycle Man (Dream Man, #4) by Kristen Ashley
Another that is lighter but again more CR would be Seduction and Snacks. I laughed so hard in parts of this book I was crying.
Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) by Tara Sivec Futures and Frosting (Chocolate Lovers, #2) by Tara Sivec haven't read the second yet hopefully it's a funny as the first.
Another series I'm enjoying is Lauren Dane's Undercover (Federation Chronicles, #1) by Lauren Dane Relentless (Federation Chronicles, #2) by Lauren Dane Insatiable (Federation Chronicles, #3; Phantom Corps, #1) by Lauren Dane Mesmerized (Phantom Corps, #2) by Lauren Dane Captivated (Phantom Corps, #3) by Lauren Dane

There are others but they are a bit more serious.
Enjoy whatever you decided on.

I don't think there is or ever will be anything quite like it, but I highly recommend the Warprize series by Elizabeth Vaughan for great fantasy romance.

Here is a werewolf series I liked:

The Strip (The Big Bad Wolf, #2) by Heather Killough-Walden
The Spell (The Big Bad Wolf, #3) by Heather Killough-Walden
The Hunt (The Big Bad Wolf #4) by Heather Killough-Walden

This series then leads into The Kings series which is also good.

Another series for you to try is this one:
(this series is free also which is nice)

The Mating (Law of the Lycans, #1) by Nicky Charles
The Keeping (Law of the Lycans, #2) by Nicky Charles
The Finding (Law of the Lycans, #3) by Nicky Charles
Bonded (Law of the Lycans, #0.5) by Nicky Charles

message 47: by Dana (new)

Dana Delamar (danadelamar) | 28 comments If you like sexy books with bad boy heroes, here are some I'd recommend:

I just finished A Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian and really enjoyed it--Lucan Thorne was very hot!

Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian

I also highly recommend Larissa Ione's Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series (I'm reading Rogue Rider right now).

Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione

Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1) by Larissa Ione

Oh, and Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series (I've only read the first one, but it rocked and I have the second waiting until I finish Rogue Rider).

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost

I also really enjoyed Karen Marie Moning's first book in the Fever series. Jericho Barrons??? Whew! Planning to dig into the rest of that series soon.

Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning

If you like romantic suspense, I recommend Kristine Cayne's series, especially the second book, Deadly Addiction. She writes heroes that are too-die-for!

Deadly Addiction (Deadly Vices, #2) by Kristine Cayne

Well, that should be enough for now. Too many series, too little time! :)
