Probably one of the best live albums made. Followed by Santana Lotus IMO.

Linda | 33 comments Simon - my brother is a massive Captain Beefheart fan and last night I listened to a very long explanation of how the captain worked with his musicians, how he wrote, how he recorded.....I've never listened to any of his music though!

I've really come to appreciate Alex Harvey ove the years.

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Hi Linda,
I played some beefheart last night. I think my tastes have changed :)

Love your cat by the way. I must try and get a flattering photo of Dotty.

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Songwriting sensation Ed Sheeran follows up smash hit single "The A Team", with his debut album +. After a string of EPs dating back to 2005, the young pop troubadour finally gets the exposure his he deserves with this new full-length release. The album also includes current single "You Need Me, I Don't Need You".

Always going to get my attention with BBD Simon.

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments I listened to the whole of Sunburst Finish then went on to Elvis Costello. Allison.

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments Sounds good to me. Great combination.

Ian (pepecan) Alison is perhaps Elvis' best sad song. I think EC is probably the best songwriter of the last 30 to 40 years.

I do agree, his range as well as his quality is quite extraordinary. Many saw this at the start of his career with Watching the Detectives and the album that followed. Alas, I confess that I was not one of them. However, I have caught on now. Better late than never.

willie (williewit) The Fall... 2x4
Donovan... Barbajagal
Neil Young... It's a dream
Bob Dylan... It's all over baby blue

i soo love random play...

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments Ooo, random track setting. I must admit I find that very irritation. I tend to set it to random album.

Nice choice though.

I remember once driving across country and listening to the Joshua Tree by U2. For those who don't know it, the last track is quite quiet then fades gently out. The next album was Slipknot, probably one of the loudest thrash metal bands. The change was so sudden I nearly went off the road with shock!

Nice counterpoint to Evanescence.
