Dawn (breakofdawn) Speaking of red wine, Dawn may or may not have had a few glasses tonight. So you may or may not want to ignore any comments from her for the next few hours. I'd err on the side of may. Just saying.

red wine would work well with this. I just had my first instance of "heliotrope eyes." First. Time. Ever.

I have issues, lol. I took my silly ass to Borders "to buy a Kobo." I didn't get the Kobo (they told me that if it was defective I still couldn't bring it back) but I managed to leave with:

The Night Angel Trilogy
Introducing Garrett, P.I.
Hard Magic
Guards of Haven: The Adventures of Hawk and Fisher
Turn Coat HB for $3.99!
The Warded Man
Small Favor - HB for $4.99!

Exactly. And yet again Borders loses a sale.

I checked Kobo's site and they are being sold at Best Buy now. That'll work. I can walk there.

Maggie K | 730 comments and there were 3 omnibuses. SO she bought 3 books, but will be reading 9! I agree wholeheartedly!

message 169: by Traci (new)

Traci I've been reading your comments here on the sidelines. There's no way I'm joining this challenge. I definately have to fight against a buying books addiction myself and I had a really bad month. (Jim Butcher's Dresden Files are to blame) But although I'm not joining I have decided I can control myself a little better. I'm limiting myself to two new books a week. And one book each from my two book clubs a month. But it's really hard isn't it?

message 170: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) Sooooo I kind of bought a book. Just one! See, I'm really liking The Warded Man, so I bought the second in the series. I needed it. So now I have -7 credits..... Just 20 books to read until I can buy a new one. LOL.

Seriously, can I start over?

That would be a lot more fun.

Anne | 54 comments starting own & unread count: 253 (yikes)
other TBR: 229
Total: 482

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed now that I've counted that up. I've also got about 45 library books, some of which may not be included in the above total. My first goal will be to get myself down to 20 library books and keep it below that level. I don't remember the last time I had a total that low, which is the main reason my "own and unread" list is so high. Since I tend to buy 2 or 3 books a month, I'd better try to read at least 8 books a month so my total will start going down. I'd pick more, but the average length is over 500 pages, and I work full-time. I do need to sleep sometimes.

message 182: by [deleted user] (new)

I bought 19 books this weekend, y'all. Nineteen.

That's right. I'll also eat fudge in front of you when you start your diet :D

Slow. And I'll smack my lips a lot too.

:)

After looking at some of the other totals, I feel a little better. Still, at my current pace of reading it will take me at least a few years to get through all these books even if I don't add a single new one. My ticker says I've read "only" 52 books so far this year. I joined Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ in March, so it's possible I missed a few. I know I skipped some on my total before- I just noticed I have 10(!) books that I'm currently reading. I should really finish some of those.

I have a confession to make - we're a big huge group of book addicts. :-) You'd fit in around here fine, no problem.
