Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments This Challenge is for the size of the book.

With the 12x12 challenge I wanted to keep track of how many bigger books I read, just to make sure that I don't sluff off. Because, honestly, I surly would go for a handful of smaller books just to make myself look completely worthy of the challenge.

With popular demand and discussion on this topic here we will be able to challenge ourselves to read books of various sizes.

What page count will you mostly fall under?
What will be your longest book?
~~ Stephen King fans, I think that maybe in your area ;)

The idea is:

Match a smaller book with a larger book

or

To keep track.

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments To my lovely Mad Scientist,

Does size matter when it comes to the book & content?
Where will you fall in book sizes?
What will be my biggest book of the 2012 year?
Shall my shortest novella be worth the small pages?

Sincerely, Me

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments I've yet to read King as well. I was told to start off w the stand. Maybe we can work through them and get some interesting conversation going. There has been none on the group reads :( I'm thinking we could get rid of them if no one discusses and just do an open discussion and/ find others to read the book w through a thread. ???

But I'm open for reading either or of the King books.

Dee (austhokie) | 315 comments I hate group reads where there are no discussions, or where the discussion just revolves around, omg I loved this book with nothing else

I would definitely participate in discussions, the problem is group reads are usually books I don't care about or would have to go find. Whereas I like to stick to my current shelves and kill THAT stuff off. But I would be up for reading The Stand if we're supposed to do that first.

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments @Dee I know what u mean. I didn't vote for either of the books. But I tried starting convos for both. I wish to get some more in depth discussions.

@Adam I wish group reads would branch out more, not just this group. I do read YA but I like to read so much more. I'm up for added the Stand for the next month... Or two.

We can post a King poll between the two and see who has which book the most?

I'll add a thread so we can Get together for ideas for books that members have and want to read, together, or at least discuss together.

Same for me! I though 400+ was going to be my most common type, but right now, it's 300+. I'm hoping to change that throughout the year!
