There did not seem to be much character growth at all in this book. And what really irks me the most is this is supposed to be a magical world where power is everything and the twins happen to be princesses, okay? Got that. So why have we not been watching them go through their magical journey that much? They passed their trials, cool, but how did they power up to be able to handle their trials? They can barely hold a decent shield against coercion according to the authors but somehow without us reading about them practicing much, they pass 4 supposed to be super hard trials? It was just a little strange to me with my reading experience. Then we keep hearing about the Reckoning and how it is going to be so hard and if they don鈥檛 pass they are sent back home. But then it comes and it is just looks in to the past and a few questions about being fae. Unless I missed an important part during that, I feel like it was hyped up for 0 reason.

Diego? Ugh, his character is just horrid. His attitude, his demeanor, his entire personality, he is just so boring. I think I prefer the bullies, I mean heirs, over him.

Then Darius leaks about the twins being behind all the pranks against them to the other heirs, while still having this thing for Tory, but yet also wants to hurt Tory? So confusing to me and almost juvenile.

I do understand a lot more now about Darius after the ending. His father is Satan himself. Poor Orion doing everything possible to save Darcy. But not being able to do anything at the same time.

The only 2 parts of the book that stood out to me this time was Darcy and Orion finally defining what they are. They may not have used the words, but we know what they did.
And then the twins orders emerging. That was awesome and unexpected.

I will still be continuing the story as I am way too invested now but I do have higher hopes for the rest of the books. ...more "
