"Love how it's taking me months to finish this book.
The TechnoCore part is the most confusing. At first I thought it was all "we are Legion" but now there's factions in the Core? And they want to kiss Johnny because he wanted to be human and is part of the Hyperion unknown. Cool."

H.P. Lovecraft
“The Thing cannot be described - there is no language for such abysms of shrieking and immemorial lunacy, such eldritch contradictions of all matter, force, and cosmic order. A mountain walked or stumbled.

If I say that my somewhat extravagant imagination yielded simultaneous pictures of an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature, I shall not be unfaithful to the spirit of the thing. A pulpy, tentacled head surmounted a grotesque and scaly body with rudimentary wings; but it was the general outline of the whole which made it most shockingly frightful.”
H.P. Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu

Maya Angelou
“The charitable say in effect, 'I seem to have more than I need and you seem to have less than you need. I would like to share my excess with you.' Fine, if my excess is tangible, money or goods, and fine if not, for I learned that to be charitable with gestures and words can bring enormous joy and repair injured feelings.”
Maya Angelou, Letter to My Daughter

Stephan Pastis
“If a restaurant offers crayons, I always take them and color throughout the meal. It beats talking to the people I came to dinner with.”
Stephan Pastis

Fyodor Dostoevsky
“This is my last message to you: in sorrow, seek happiness.”
Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

Libba Bray
“You can’t blame a fella for kissing the prettiest girl in New York, can you, sister?â€ Sam’s grin was anything but apologetic.

Evie brought up her knee quickly and decisively, and he dropped to the floor like a grain sack. “You can’t blame a girl for her quick reflexes now, can you, pal?”
Libba Bray, The Diviners
