it was amazing
The most disturbing part about this book is how much of it is based in fact. Much like the handmaid's tale, Adjei-Brenyah has based the atrocities in his novel on actual policies and quotes. Footnotes for each chapter are a combination of humanizing character backstory and citations of actual law, including Supreme Court cases that show precedent for inhumane treatment of prisoners. DNF. Expected weird science, got a tribute to American origin myths. This book should have had a flag on it, not gothic font.
