I often feel that way about female characters in fantasy. I tend to be more forgiving if it's because of the character's overall growth. But boy does it piss me off if it's to make a male character seem stronger.

High five? If I had kickass powers I'd be unleashing a shitstorm of revenge against my enemies. But your obviously a much better person than me.
There is a distinct lack of heroes that embrace their powers and go "Hells yeah I'm awesome and I always knew it!"
Yeah, screw being humble, I'd throw myself a super powered party! Then go on a rampage and carve my name into a mountain or two.
Haha! Realign the stars and s*** like that ;)
speaking of people gaining superpowers and taking revenge or just plain simple not using them to help mankind, but rather for pranks. anyone seen ? it looks hilarious, unfortunately it's not been released over her yet..
