What precisely is a witch? Dahl seeks to explain this to his young reader by placing himself in the middle of a faux memoir, reminiscing about his youth living with a Norwegian grandmother. Said grandmother taught Dahl all he needed to know about these vile women and how to detect them. However, while on summer holiday, they come face to face with a coven of them, with dire results.
