How can you possibly quit reading NOW. You aren't human!

Lenore Kate wrote: "How can you possibly quit reading NOW. You aren't human!"

The question should rather be: How can Sonny possibly have done this to one of my favourite fictional characters ever? I want to find a hole, crawl into it and die.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Keep reading, damn it. Kill Sonny later.

Aiko READ LEN! READ!

Lenore Nope. I'm burying the Kindle and digging up the booze. For tonight at least.

Best to lance the wound open all at once. This way it's death by a thousand cuts.

Brought to you by Cliches-R-Us. LOL

ROFL! Maybe that's the best way to read the first few chapters--blitzed!

Aiko Kate wrote: "ROFL! Maybe that's the best way to read the first few chapters--blitzed!"

This I can get behind ^.^

Jenn I'm still reading the back stories but I say at least read the first 2 chapters. Those are the most painful and you can get them out of the way. Then Chapter 9 is painful as well...

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked chapter 9 *little voice*

message 12: by Jenn (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jenn I liked it too. I liked the characterizations we saw and how it advanced the plot and them, but it was still really painful. (view spoiler) :(

Its awful in a good way if that helps. The books are overly wordy but the characters consume you in the best way possible.

Lenore Becs wrote: "LOL @ your status updates. Is this book really that awful?"

When you've spent a considerable amount of time (or about 1500 pages, or three installments) learning to care about these characters and then see them go through hell and beyond without a sign of them ever coming back, then yes, Becs. It's awful. But it's like a train wreck. You can't take your eyes off it.

~ Becs ~ Ah, I see. I have this terrible OCD which means I have to see something all the way through to the end no matter how bad it is. Maybe better if I don't start this otherwise I will be feeling your pain!

Like Jenn said, this is awful and awesome and all-consuming and painful and wonderful. All at the same time. If you like m/m, dystopian, angsty stories, and you don't mind the length, then you should definitely read this series. It's definitely worth the time and effort. And it's free.

message 20: by ~ Becs ~ (new)

~ Becs ~ I like all of those - may just have to subject myself to it!!

:) If you have a Kindle, just PM me and I'll send the files your way.

Thanks Lenore - I do and I will. :-)

Lenore Jenn wrote: "Starting reread of Fade now!"

Not that I'm complaining but, gurl, why are you subjecting yourself to this all over again? Why don't you just read the new parts?

I"m going to skim for sure. I don't think there is any way someone even if they paid me to read Chapter 9 again could I do it. Once again its great for the story, great for the characterizations, fits, but utterly gut-wrenching. But, I'll def reread Chapter 14. Skim the rest.

Yes. Yes, fucking yes. Kate and I think a few others liked that chapter, and I understand the reasoning, but seriously I cried and cried. For everyone.

It might not affect you as much. It didn't bother Aiko if I remember correctly. For me, though Idk it was devastating on so many accounts. :-/

Girl. To paraphrase Boyd, I love Sin more than life itself. What do you reckon'll happen?

I love Sin too. But in the context of it all, it didn't bother me. It hurt. Of course it did. But it wasn't that "WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING THIS YOU NUTBALL"-fury..it was the "well...my heart is already pulled out. run over about 15 times. salt all over the wound, and it's still bleeding"-pain, that results in me going "oh...cope however you can cope, I'll just sit here with my bottle of vodka and try and forget".

Aaaaargh!!!! Are straitjackets cheap in Norway? I'm gonna need a couple.

Just keep soldier on Len! I'll sit here ready with the vodka when it's needed.

I wouldn't mind putting a straitjacket on a couple of the people from the agency though..then throw them into Sin's cage, and forget about them.
