There were quite a few things in Purple Nail Polish that resonated with me, reminding me that even on days I were femme clothes. The authors experiences at typically female evens also resonated with me.

The one piece of my identity that I haven't seen represented in this book is an afab nonbinary person who has never been attracted to girls. The narratives in here that do touch on sexuality often show being attracted to women as part of the process of discovering identity. But what of us who have never felt that who still are neither woman nor man? Are we still valid nonbinary people?

My kindle or the netgalley did something weird so I had to delete this and re download it, so I lost my notes and high lights. :-( I had some great lines highlighted.

So far, these essays range from validating my own experience as a non-binary person with experiences similar to mine while others educate and enlightened me about non-binary experiences that are different from mine and that I've heard less about.
