Brian has just had to eat raw eggs, I couldn't eat a cooked one so the description of licking out the shells was awful but obviously what he needs to do to stay alive.

There's a raw-egg-eating scene exactly like this in the movie "Rabbit-Proof Fence." I don't remember very much about that movie except for this, which is seared in my memory, unfortunately.

Yuck, reading it was bad enough, but with visuals and sound effects! Will definitely avoid that film Caroline!
