Ok... Chapter 44 was not nearly as bad as I was expecting based on all the hateful reviews I saw... Or maybe I'm used to worse since I enjoy reading RH? 🤷‍♀��

Casteel's eyes narrowed. "And can you please stop giving Kieran the middle finger?"
"I was actually giving it to everyone, but whatever." Slowly, Reaver lowered his middle finger.

Casteel spun towards me as a grin tugged at his lips. "Are you hiding on a boulder?"
"yep."
"You're adorable."
"Shut up."

I reached over, clasping his shoulder. “We are not brothers of the same blood. We are not friends due to some bond,�� I told him, and his gaze met mind. “We are not loyal to each other because of courtesy or tradition or title. We have always been above all that. And, in a lot of ways, we’re two halves of the same whole. Different than Poppy and me, but not that much different. You know that.��

His brows flew up. "Well, first off, I don't like to think of myself as a snack. More like a whole damn meal."
Dropping my face to the top of Poppy's head, it took everything in me not to laugh.
"Okay, Mr. Whole Damn Meal, I don't like using you in general, and you know that."

Emotions clogged my throat, and I didn’t know if it belonged to them, me, or if it was a combination of all of us.
