V was so good! I was allowed to stay up late to watch this with my mum and it was so exciting, and frightening too. Highlight of the 80s

Shocking to read and remember about the countdown to Page 3 girls turning 16, and of course the cruelty of playground insults. Just a few months ago I reminded a kind and decent person where the insult 'Joey' came from and how ingrained it is in British culture

Wow, Knightmare perfectly captured that need for dungeon crawling before most little kids picked up a pair of dice. What can be said about the Rambo cartoon and toy line? Pretty fucked playing with Rambo figures aged 11...

Lovely to read about The Tripods. I remember being really excited for the series as a kid, but ultimately finding it very boring to watch. It was up against The A-Team on the other side though!

Section on Grange Hill is brilliant! Kind of want to show Grange Hill to my kids. Will say something, I did a lot of reckless things in my youth but heroin was a big no-no because of Grange Hill. Just Say No!

Oh yes I agree - EVERYONE at school watched Rik Mayall's reading of 'George and his Marvellous Medicine' - truly gorgeous television reminding kids that it was OKAY to mix medicines and potions and lotions with whatever you could find.
Definitely not recommended now knowing how often kids drank a bottle of bleach....
