Ruth is the illustrator of The Kissing Hand, Sassafras, Happy Mamas, and Otters, Snails and Tadpole Tails. She鈥檚 currently working on two books for Charlesbridge Publishing. She鈥檚 an English artist and writer-in-the-making.

Powered by dark chocolate, she heartily knits stories together with letters, pencils and paintbrushes. She is often snatched up by breezes and colors and pint-sized things 鈥� rocks, leaves, shells, bugs, feathers, and creatures. You may also find her gardening, hiking, wildly dancing, and riding her bike really fast in an odd looking helmet.

She breathes easy in the roly-poly hills of western Iowa with an adorable husband, six marvelous kids between them (with 10 grand-babies!) and a very needy cat.
