Awakening

Awakening is by eroticawriter Sarah Stein. It is aboutAnalyse, a young woman who has a lot to learn about her strange ways and unexpectedly a man named Warwick stumbles upon her to help her discover her secret and a special bond they are found to have. Warwick does some shady things that make her think twice about him and isn’t sure if she can trust him.

Paranormal is one of my favorite genres and this werewolf read was quick and fun. It is a short story if one is looking for something steamy and quick to read. It is also one in a series so if you are left wanting more (like me) the next one will be coming out later this year.

Life II

This book was great. Not the best book I ever read, but it definitelykept me entertained. One of my favorite shows growing up (and still is) is the Twilight Zone. To me, this is like an episode of the Twilight Zone was made into a movie, not any specific episode because I think the story is very original.

This book is about a man named Max who is bored of his life and accidentallypicks up a book that has a hidden message in it that he cracks and sends him on a journeyhalfway around the world. This is only a small journey compared to the time travelhe is duped into. The rest of the book makes you wonder if Max will really able to change his future with the knowledge he is traveling with, or will time try to bend its way back to its originaltimeline?

I was really rooting for all of the characters and completely drawn into what would happen next for poor Max.

The only criticism I have (and it is purely opinion) is I wish it had ended a little differently. The ending was okay, but I was hoping for the “It’s a Wonderful Life ending, but it ended differently. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves sci-fi, or time travel. I think it answers nicely, “what would you do differently if you could live life all over again?”

New Release!

[image error]Title: Phoenyx in Flames

Book: 1

Author: Daisy St. James

Genre: Romance

Published: February 14, 2018

ASIN: B0795V582C

Synopsis

Book one in a brand-new series by Author Daisy St. James.

“Any last words? She asked, almost sweetly.

“Phoenyx, the vampire hissed.

There weren’t any second chances for the undead in situations like these, at least not by her standards. Especially not after having the audacity to try and take her out. That was the biggest no-no of all. When that happened, you paid with your life––or un-life, so to speak. Silently, she pulled the pin and launched the grenade at his feet. It exploded on impact, sending the living corpse in every direction but South.

Phoenyx smiled coldly. “I love it when they say my name.

As a child, Jane heard voices. Felt what others could feel.

She was witness to the things that went bump in the night and could tell a person’s deepest, darkest thoughts with only a touch. Until tragedy changed her life completely, thrusting her into the care of Hutton Grimshaw.

Esteemed chair member of The Order of the Flame, Hutton does what he must. Training young Jane to be the one thing the shadows feared. Now, at the age of twenty-five, she is known as Phoenyx, the world’s deadliest supernatural assassin.

The hard and fast rules change when she finds Judas, a vampire, suffering in a back alley with no memory of who he is, or why he’s becoming more and more human every day. With a price on her head and the survival of humanity at stake, Phoenyx finds herself . . . Changing. Her true nature is slowly beginning to reveal itself and mysteriously, Hutton is the only one who seems to know why.

After years of taking down the supernatural beings that plague her hometown of Crystal Haven, Phoenyx finds herself teetering on the fine line between good and evil. While her attraction to Judas begins to consume her, growing like a fire out of control, one thing becomes undeniably clear . . .

If you play with fire, you’re going to get burned.

***Contains mature subject matter, sexual content, 18+ readers only.***

About the Author

Daisy always dreamed of becoming a writer. From the moment she picked up her very first romance novel at the tender age of twelve, she was hooked. As she got older and more ambitious, she wrote her first Young Adult novel, which promptly got devoured by her temperamental Hewlett-Packard. Since then, she’s learned a lot about crafting an engaging story to captivate readers and how to back up her work to avoid utter devastation at the hands of technology.

Daisy lives mostly in her head but calls beautiful Montreal, Quebec her home. She spends her days as a stay-at-home-mom/voice-over artist and lives to make her family as happy as she possibly can!

Her husband is the man of her dreams and you’ll find a little bit of him in every Hero she writes. Most of her Heroines have a little bit of her in them as well. In doing so, she’s made her love for her husband immortal.

Popping In

I’m waiting to get Vermilion Tears back from an editor and corrected so I can put the updates on Amazon! Also sent in a book I’m doing in an anthology to my beta reader (she helped me so much with rewriting Vermilion Tears). I always get restless while waiting to get work back. Guess I’ll just have to stick to writing my Historical Romance for now.

New Release!

Love Sucks is an Anit-Valentine anthology. I thought this would be a fun book as opposed to a regularromance. I bought this one and can’t wait to read it.

Creatures of the Night Tag

Creatures of the night tag from

Vampire

My favorite vampire of all time is Louis from Interview with the Vampire.

Werewolf

When thinking of werewolves the first thing that comes to mind is Teen WolfHow I love that tv show! (I stole this answer from the Book Duchess because I agree!!)

Zombie

This makes me think of the Walking Dead, although, I have never read the comic books only watched the show. The first three seasons are great, but kind of loose steam from there. This season I’ve decided to sit out on.

Ghost

I feel like I went from books to TV really fast with this tag Now I’ll jump to movies. I need to read more books lol. I’m going to go with The Others, I still watch it even though I clearly know the big reveal.

#Notall Tag

Found this from and she got this tag from who originated this tag.

#notall Cover Changes A cover change you liked

This is hard because I usually don’t like cover changes. Also, I usually don’t realize there has been cover changes half the time. So, I went to goodreads to help me out here and this is what I found: I don’t know maybe I cheated, or maybe some covers are just too dated. The first one is confusing because in the books the robots always seem to look humanoid.

I,Robot from Asimov

#notall Adaptations An adaptation you love more than the book

For some reason, I’m really old schooling it today..hope you guys appreciate the old stuff!

I have a thing for old AMC movies! And this one blew me out of the water so naturally when I found out it was a book I read it right away! While both the movie and the book are great there are large differences like the boy’s age about 12 in the movie and 15 in the book. I just loved how the movie made the relationship between Harvey and Manuel. I was like, wow I want a dad like that lol. Manuel and Harvey hardly have any interactions at all in the book. Both were great just the movie was better.

#notall Tropes A trope you’ll never tire of seeing

The tough girl who is oblivious to the boy who loves her

The City of Ember

Did I say I loved dystopian? In case you missed it before it is my favoritegenre closely followed by paranormal.

Anyhow, I had to do all this middle grade and elementaryreads when I was in college so we would have a large range of books when we finally graduated and went off to become teachers. This was suggested to me by a classmate becauseI told her my favoritebook was The Giver.I’m glad she suggested it! (Although, its been some years since I’ve been out of college, but I won’t say how many).

The city of Ember is about Lina her friend Doon and her sister Poppy plays a large part also. They live in an underground city that the ‘builders made for them because of a nuclear fallout.

The city of Ember is falling apartand lights are starting to go out and food is becoming scarce because as Lina finds out Ember was only a temporarysituation and by no means meant to be permanent. She finds this out with the help and destruction of her sister Poppy. As Poppy is only about two she is still in that chewing stage and as she discovered important papers just lyingaround Lina’s house, she also convenientlychews them so they aren’t completelyclear.

Lina and Doon are trying to find out the mystery of Ember before society completely collapses. Of course, they are only teens so no one believes a word they say. This is a great story and I loved the characters.

Feedback Please!!!

Ok guys I really need your help with some feedback. I have decided to have someone make a video teaser for my book, but I want some feedback before I give it the ok and finalize it.

I need you to let me know what you think of the video. If it could use more information that was excluded. If the music is weird or just right…anything else you would like to put your two cents into. I’m planning on eventually putting it on youtube as an ad so I want it to be perfect!
