Custome Fit
Custome fit is by self-published author Lexi Miles. Sunni is a personal dresser for the famous and elite. Which was interesting to me right away as I always assumed the celebrities had someone personally give them fashion advice, but didn’t realize it was a real thing.Â
I really liked the MC in this story. Sunni is a spunky woman and unlike a lot of characters that can’t make up their minds or are afraid to tell their true feelings Sunni is not. I found that very refreshing about her. I’m always slowly dying inside when the characters obviously have feelings for each other but wait until the last page to finally confess those feelings.
There are some ups and downs in the story (like don’t fall in love with your client, which she has a hard time following) but in the end, it’s a happy ending.Â
This has very explicit sex scenes XXX. I recommend this for those who like a quick fun read, with strong lead females and erotic sex scenes.Â
P.S. This book in the Holiday series takes place during Thanksgiving.Â

Interview With the Vampire
Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice is hands down my favorite vampire novel. It was part of my inspiration for Vermilion tears.Â
The first time I stumbled upon Interview was during college. I was the poor kid without a TV in her room so I would find myself in the dorm lounge watching various shows and movies. As I was clicking through the channels I stopped on the movie Interview with the Vampire, only I didn’t know it at the time. I think it was the part where they had just turned Claudia and I was mesmerized.Â
I was so embarrassed someone would walk into the lounge and make fun of me for watching some sleazy vampire movie. And then someone did walk in and I thought: screw it! I love this and I’m not changing the channel.Â
To my luck it was a girl I got along with and she sat down to watch it with me, after a while she says, “Wait a minute, I think this is Interview with the Vampire!
I was so happy because I think it was on Showtime or HBO because there were no commercials or any indicator what I was watching. I was relieved because I remember a few years before when this movie was being marked in the theater, so I didn’t seem so lame after all. Although it’s hard for any movie to be lame when you have Brad Pitt, Tom Crews, and Antonio Banderas all in one movie

Was going to do a Book Review, but this seemed more fun today. And I need a little fun in my day since I accidentally rear-ended someone today

Hearten Christmas
Hearten Christmas is by my good friend Sarah Stein she is published by Siren Publishing. Her books are the first erotica I had ever read. Although, I’m still getting used to reading erotica I really enjoyed her story.Â
Hearten Christmas is an F/F/M erotica novel (how about that for my first go at erotica!). Stacey lost her parents a few years back during the holidays and is trying to figure out her life while managing the emotions she keeps bottled up. When she meets her college roommate, Colene, and her good friend Dorian, Stacey’s life takes a change for the best. They help her reconnect with her feeling and help her explore her sexual side (something she also seemed to keep bottled up.)
There are many steamy and explicit scenes.
My favorite part of this book is the relationship between Stacy and Colene. I feel that their relationship is deep and well developed. It was definitely a fun fast read. Recommended for those who like erotica and polyamorous relationships.Â

Self-Published Review- Smoke and Mirrors by Jessie Franklin
I want to mix up my reviews between popular books, self-published books, and lesser known authors. This week I’ve decided on my author friend, who is self-published, Jessie Franklin’s Smoke and Mirrors.
Smoke and Mirrors is a cozy mystery set in small town Oklahoma. Lynnie is a character who moves away from her small town only to return in order to help her grandfather.
When Lynnie gets back to town she finds things have changed and her small town seems almost foreign to her. People from high school have changed, and it takes her some time to get used to the changes. While she is trying to solve a mystery from her past she is sidetracked by a love interest and a romance she wasn’t expecting buds.
I recommend this book for people who like cozy mysteries, mixed with romance, and small town situations.

The Giver
I chose The Giver for my first ever review on my blog because it is my all time favorite book. This book had only been out two years when I decided to read it in middle school. I was the same age as Jonas when I read it so it was very relatable to me.Â
Reading the giver was mind blowing to me at the time, because it was the first time I had read a book that was not set in everyday life as I knew it. Jonas came from a very different world from me with very different rules. It sucked me in from the Ceremony of Twelve and I was hooked.Â
I loved the journey Lois Lowery took me on learning about this what seems at first to be a utopian society and quickly turns dystopian. Â
I loved this book so much that dystopian novels were and still are my all time favorite genre of book. I recently re-read it as an adult and still love it just as much as I did the first time I read it.
I recommend this book to anyone and everyone, unless you are afraid to open your mind or just don’t like MG books to begin with.Â

Hurrican Harvey- Recovery
So I was planning on writing something else today okay two days ago, but I’ve been so busy helping my in-laws I thought I’d write about that instead.
So if you haven’t heard about Hurrican Harvey causing a wreck for southeast Texas and Lousiana then you must have been under a rock or just avoid the news like a plague.
I was just unlucky enough to live in a part of Houston who took the brunt end of the storm, but there is a silver lining.
Silver lining was, we stayed safe and dry in my home purchased only last year, making that buy feel even better, now that we know in extreme flooding it won’t get flooded out.
Did you know that in my area the Humble/Kingwood area took on more water than ever recorded before? It was pretty crazy! The previous record from the San Jacinto river was 67ft, but we broke it by going all the way to 70ft, which made a load of difference.
My in laws live on one side of the bridge going over the San Jacinto and I live about 7 minutes away on the other side. My husband had helped them bring a bunch of stuff to their second floor, “just in case.
Once the flood waters got a little higher my in laws decided it was time to leave.
But the further down the road the deeper the rain so they had to take a boat.
And from there they had to take a humvee
[image error]
My husband couldn’t take that little bridge 7 minutes away to get them it was what was causing the flooding so instead, he had to take the highway which took 25 minutes. By the time he got his parents safe and sound to our house the place the humvee dropped them off was four feet under water.
And by the next day the highway my husband took to get his parents was also flooded.
And the high school my husband works at also flooded.
A few days later, once the waters finally receded, we had to take a ridiculous way to get to their house to assess the damage. The bridge was still closed as well as most of the highway. So our trip took an entire hour to get there, but we got there.[image error][image error][image error][image error]
We found out they had taken on 5 feet of water. We took as many pictures and videos as we could for insurance, and luckily they did have flood insurance!! Once that was done we tossed out the furniture and other items lost in the flood and then salvaged some items that were made of glass (like the plates, or knick nacks, it’s the small things that hold a lot of value). The smell of the place was horrendous. A silver lining was that they opened the bridge between our houses when we left so it only took 7 minutes to get back home.  But the highway was still closed.

The next day I stayed behind while my father in law, husband, and brother in law started ripping apart the home before mold could settle in.
And then volunteers from several different churches started showing up and helped greatly! We did have to seek them out, but once asked they came. And more demo was done.
And that’s about where we are at now. We aren’t exactly sure how to get all the silt/plaster off the ground, but I’m sure we will find a way.
My husband’s school decided it will take an entire year to rebuild and they will have to share with another high school in our district. It’s going to be a long year!

All About Me
Hi, all! I’m Author Tia Lee author of Vermilion Tears and hopefully more to come. I’ve started this blog post to get my ideas out and share my love of reading. I’d like to expose those who love my writing and books to other great authors out there, established and non-established. I am a self-pub author myself so in addition to writing reviews of other books, I’ll be occasionally writing about writing.Â
I began my journey a year ago, but my idea for Vermilion Tears came from a dream I had about six years ago when I was pregnant with my son. For those of you who have read Vermilion Tears, you will understand it came after I had finished reading the Twilight series and was in the midst of finishing one of my favorites of the genre Dracula.Â
With the help and encouragement of authors Jessie Franklin and Sarah Stein, my personal friends, I found the inspiration to write and finish my book. While I know there are still some pesky typos in there like most first edition books, I feel proud that Vermilion Tears is my first published book, and they can only get better from here.Â
If you are visiting my site, you can purchase a copy of my book and leave a review on Ĺ·±¦ÓéŔÖ or Amazon.
