is 50% done with THE AUTHOR by The Author: There are elements of a good novel in here. The author (or The Author) just doesn't seem to understand how to explore them, and may have eschewed a strong editor who would have beaten this into shape by cutting much of it.
Slurs and idle misogyny are played out.
