After wanting to be a mermaid for years and not sprouting fins, Meaghan decided it was time to write a novel about a girl who is transformed into a mermaid. DROPLETS is Meaghan's debut novel and will be followed by two sequels to complete the series.
In her spare time, Meaghan enjoys reading and brainstorming ideas for other novels. When she isn't sitting down at her computer or reading a book, she can be found spending time with her family or Netflix binging to catch up on her favorite shows (normally while snacking on a bowl of goldfish crackers).

In order for me to write a scene I have to be able to see it in my mind first. Whenever I get writer's block, I turn of my computer and listen to music instead. I have found that I create plots and scenes best when listening to movie scores. The Pandora Film Scores station has helped me through all kinds of writer's block.(less)

“Finally I saw something. Out in the distance, there was a bright and shiny rippling pillar in the water. It continued to move back and forth, as if in perfect rhythm with the waves. It was a strip, no longer than a human body but, it undulated as if it had no distinct form.”
Meaghan Rauscher, Droplets

“The cut, which the merman had placed on my hip, was shimmering with a soft, almost transparent, lavender glow. Like a stained-glass window, it refracted any light that touched it into lavender shimmers.”
Meaghan Rauscher, Droplets

“Not every story has a happy ending, but that doesn't mean it's not worth telling.”
Steven dos Santos, The Culling

“I lean forward and pinch his nostrils closed again, press my lips to his, and blow in more air. I think about all those times he stole my breath away. Why doesn't he use it now?”
Steven dos Santos, The Culling
