Buried deep below the everyday life of our society lives an underground world of nightmares—of violence and murder no one dares speak about. Contracts and laws weave the web of our culture together. Our Masters walk amongst us. They can be our friends, or the ones to make us disappear forever.

Where I once had found peace within my existence, it all ended with the death of my cruel, yet caring owner. My world shattered and I was taken back to the one place I had hoped to never see again—the cells of Whitlock—a subterranean fortress for slaves who await their new placement.

Now I have no rights. I have no say. My feelings and wellbeing are meaningless. Escape is impossible, but I have nothing left to lose.

To stand any chance of survival, I must give my life as collateral to the highest bidder: Soul for Sale.

As all of my friends know, I love a dark, twisted story. In fact, the more disturbing and depraved, the more I usually love it. However, while this book definitely delivered on all of those accounts, I still couldn't bring myself to give it more than three stars.

Why? Quite simply because the editing, or lack there of, was atrocious. This book had incredible potential to be a phenomenal, dark story. It was so dark and cringeworthy. It had everything I'd normally love in a story, but it was sadly overshadowed by a plethora of typos, misused/incorrect words, etc. Here are a couple of examples:
-"Fist’s only, though, wife."
-"'He knew things he shouldn’t have. Perhaps you’ve been transpiring with him the entire time.' I blinked through the news, not able to contain my shock. 'I haven’t transpired anything.'"

I'm not a grammatical expert by any means, but the number of proofreading oversights in this book was distracting. I would expect that before publication, somebody reading this should know the difference between "passed" and "past". Similarly, "transpire" and "conspire" are not synonymous. So, while this story may have had potential to be a 4-star or 5-star read, the lack of editing was a major downer for me. It took what could've been a great read and downgraded it to an "okay" read for me.

Now that I've got my rant about the typos out of the way, I want to reemphasize that this had the makings of a great dark story. The characters were vividly depicted and the gloomy subterranean world was almost tangible. I spent a lot of time cringing while reading this story. It was downright gory. I wanted to cover my eyes at some of the horrific scenes that played out.

If you're looking for a book with shock value, this is your book. It is definitely not for the faint of heart. There is blood, gore and perversions that will leave you feeling like you need to bleach your eyeballs to erase what you just read. Personally, I love books that push me out of my comfort zone and leave me feeling uneasy.

However, you definitely have to be willing to overlook some grammatical errors to enjoy this one. They are numerous and obvious. The frequency of errors proved to be distracting enough that it took away from my enjoyment of this story. So, if quality editing is something that is a must for you, this book will drive you crazy.

I am curious to see where Everleigh's story will go. I will most likely read the next book to find out. Meanwhile, I'll be hoping that the author invests in some editing help. It is a shame to see what could be a great story be held back by such simple oversights.

5 "fucked up monsters within" stars

Slavery - the hell of sexual deviance within thick walls of Whitlock , a Fortress of horrid affairs, twisted exibitions of sexual expoilt of slaved women...the sex machinery for sexually wicked, socially sick and emotionally deprived...

it's an every day life for 24690.

She used to be someone, she used to be a daughter, she used to have a name, a name HE secretly worshiped BUT never could have acted upon his own deep desires and shaped emotions, cause he owned this HELL displayed inside the walls of cursed depravity.
I was trapped with this curse and there was nothing I could do about it. Nothing I would do about it. Whitlock was here to stay. Even if I did end this, the men here wouldn't stop....They could possibly become out of control. Here, there was a system. There were rules. Keep the monsters in a cage and they couldn't bite the children. They couldn't wreak havoc on society...

Bram the main Master who could never have her and yet she belonged to him, to the very basic core of his existence and yet so out of reach.
God, I loved her. I love her more than what was fathomable.

Even if he wasn't physically with her, he was near her, watching, supervising, tracking and orchestrating the motions...he kept her safe in his own tortured wicked way. And the stirring events that come upon them all within these walls only strengthen the pull, the burning pain, the thin line between love and hate becomes blurred by the carnal desire that will ruin them both...cause the emotions are not simple minded, they are layered with different shapes and forms...
You've never seen the side of me that I hide.
You have no idea how much I'd love to hurt you.

You don't know what kind of fire you're playing with.
You'd be smart to stay hating me .
You're safe there...

BUT even the broken spirit finds the light in the dark. 24690 claimed herself back, her name was her lifeline Everleigh Davenport who she once was, is again and Bram brought her back. She feels what is like to have hope, again. And it matters not the danger, the burn, the hurt, the unknown...it was her breaking point towards the inevitable...
No matter how hard we had tried over the years, we couldn't escape...
we were doomed to this desire between us...

she felt alive once again...in this horror of an enslaved life...
You should probably know that I love you and that i will never love anyone else.

Then Bram caves...inspite the devil within himself...he caved in deep...

She had ruined the old me. I was no longer bulletproof from emotion. The day I kissed her and made her my own was the day I condemned myself to a future I couldn't run from.

But greed, envy, betrayal of the closest men partaking in the machinery takes them into another level of devious ploy, setting course of action into an abyss of darkness, the very pit of hell, taking away every human emotion left, when Everleigh is left alone, more enslaved then ever, beaten, shattered, taken, raptured and torn from the hands of another man, a master wanna be, known as West.

And the only thread she holds on to is the tiny shred of notion that she felt love, alive, even human for a little while as she reaches another breaking point of survival, embodied, in disdain of self-worth and recollection as she sets the path of revenge and demolition clinging on „his lingering words...

I am watching. I am there...

I absolutely loved this. It was dark, passionate, erotic and almost painfully poetic at times, filled with gore, horror and intensity, with complicated relations, emotions, desires, struggles, dubious and vile actions that encompassed me fully taking me into the unknown sphere of messed up turmoil and still made me want to come back to find out more...

Impatiently waiting for the next installment...

Aside from the grammatical and punctuation errors, delivered on the promise of a dark, suspenseful read. To be honest, this is one crazy effed up story. Just what the doctor ordered.

Prologue
Bram

Only in the darkest recesses of one’s mind will they ever find true freedom. To push the limits of what they’re capable of—to have their character revealed when there is no restraints to restrict the desires within—that is what defines who they are. But where there is a perpetrator, there is a victim. The actions and trials of both are not without consequence. To know fear in its purest form was to live, and life was the greatest gift we were bestowed.

It took me falling in love with a slave for me to realize that. Power, money, and status in society I’d been born with the world served to me on a silver platter. I had also been born to carry the vilest secret that existed amongst the wealthy and sadistic—Whitlock.

The subterranean fortress was like stepping into heaven and hell. For those looking for pleasure evoked from pain and death, the place was what dreams were made of. But dreams weren’t always happy or one-sided. For the slaves who were trapped inside, it was a nightmare so horrendous that most found ways to kill themselves to escape the torment within.

Slave Vicolette had attempted taking her own life once. The unsuccessful endeavor had fate casting her into my arms. I was a young man then, barely twenty-three at the time, and she was only fourteen. Even then her beauty had woven a web around me. I watched her grow, and with her age came such a deep-rooted obsession that no matter how hard I tried to convince myself, I couldn’t deny my feelings—I loved her.

Emotions came in many forms, and love appeared in mass shades. Mine were as black as my heart, and they just happened to develop where they didn’t belong. What had festered over the years wasn’t pure. Jealousy, hate, madness. I loved her as much as I hated her. No slave Vicolette could never be mine, even if she were free of her Master. My position allowed it, but I refused, and it wasn’t for her. It was for me.

Whitlock was mine now, passed on to me after my father’s death. To be attached any more than I already was would be condemning myself to a truth I also couldn’t deny.

I was my father’s son. I harbored evil, just like every man who walked through our doors.

Love may have taken residence in my heart, but love killed. I killed. She was safer with the monsters, than she was with the devil who hungrily tracked her every move.

I was always watching—waiting—secretly killing for who I knew I’d never escape—slave 24690.

A.A. Dark has spun a wicked tale of twisted, epic proportions. Read the warning, my dark friends.

"Only in the darkest recesses of one’s mind will they ever find true freedom. To push the limits of what they’re capable of—to have their character revealed when there are no restraints to restrict the desires within—that is what defines who they are."

OMG! So, strap on your seatbelt. I'm not quite sure how to form a complete sentence after reading this book. I'm flipping though the book for a second time trying to regain my composure. I feel like I should just warn you of the depravity then let you sail across the bloody sea yourself. No review needed. LOL!

Whitlock a save haven for the truly evil. Masters can gorge on their sickest fantasies for the right amount of money. Yeah, think about some of those stories you read in the news, think about some of those things that turn your stomach. That's Whitlock's clientele. 24690 is just another slave destined for torture and ultimately death. This had a different feel than most Slave/Master stories, believe me, I've read a ton. This is a new world to immerse myself in.

"There’s beauty in barbarism. You just have to know how to flow with the ferocity or else you may drown."

I loved this book from the very start. There's a medieval feel to Whitlock, made me perk up and read with intrigue. I had no idea where I was going, the lights were flipped off and I was fumbling through the maze in complete darkness. More than once I sat staring at my kindle like it grew a head, a head that mocked me. I wasn't prepared for it, completely blindsided. I love a book I can't figure out, this one had secrets and motives around every corner. There's two dark anti-heroes to choose from. I was like, which one is the worst? By the end I was laughing with sweet revenge, yelling at my kindle. I feel like I should warn you for like the tenth time, after the halfway mark it really gets gruesome. The first half is like dancing in a field of flowers, so hang in there if you like pitch black reads, because you will get your fix. The characters are beautifully brutal, there's no moral compass, just the ways things roll at Whitlock. 24690 aka Everleigh grows within the pages, I fell more and more in love with her. This story was twisted phenomenal.

I loved EVERY single thing about this book. If you like your dark stories more on the horror side with a mix of erotic. I highly recommend.

I happened onto this book quite by accident and I'm so glad I did. This book puts me in the mind of Pepper Winters' Indebted series with the no holds barred darkness. This author holds nothing back in how black she paints the picture around these characters. The twists and turns just in the first half of the book kept my mind reeling. Just when I thought I knew something, I was wrong, every single time. That is probably the thing I loved most about this book, all the mind-fuckery.

Alaska Angelini writing under the pen name of A.A. Dark, is currently right up there with my favorite "Queens of Dark and Taboo". If you like true darkness, then this book is totally for you.

"I wasn't Everleigh anymore. I was no one but a dead slave, alive."
The main male characters, Bram and West, are the stuff nightmares are made of! Bram is the "Main Master" of Whitlock, a dark and sinister place where the rich and famous come to play. Anything goes between the Master's and the slaves. From purchasing one at an auction until they die either naturally or at the hand of their owner, the slaves can be subjected to all manner of deviant behavior from a simple slap to rape to flaying. There are no consequences, the slaves are nothing but toys to be played with, then discarded by death once they are broken.

Slave 24690 has been at Whitlock since she was kidnapped at 10 years old. When she came "of age" she was auctioned off and purchased by her first master. Outside of beatings, she was treated very well... until her master is murdered and she is blamed.

Bram took care of slave 24690 from the time she was 10 until she went to auction. He didn't touch her. He kept her safe, and in the dark recesses of his mind, he knew he held affection for her. But it was something Bram would never act on. Bram had sworn to never take a slave.

When Bram's father died Bram became the new Main Master of Whitlock. It was his, and everyone there worked for him. Period.

West was Bram's best friend from childhood. Where Bram was raised with a silver spoon lodged firmly in his mouth, West was not. Bram's father, seeing how close the boys were as children, as close as brothers, paid for West's education, and he became, pretty much, Bram's right hand man once Bram took over Whitlock.

West harbored a jealousy, however. No matter how good he was, Bram was always one step better. He kept the jealousy hidden, Bram was his brother, and the Main Master. Bram deserved West's respect.

As the story moves on, the darkness becomes a black hole that just sucked me in. Chapter by chapter. Page by page. At times the next frightening twist was almost too much, and I had to put my Kindle down, wrap it in a blanket, and put it under the bed or couch... afraid that what I was reading could jump off the screen and play itself out in front of me. That's how well A.A. Dark/Alaska Angelini writes. It's more than a movie playing in my head, it feels as if I'm right *there*>

From the blurb:
"***WARNING***
This book contains EXTREMELY disturbing situations, explicit sexual content, and very graphic language. This book EXCEEDS the dark genre and has been classified as PITCH BLACK. May contain triggers for some. Read at your own risk!!"
Consider yourself warned. But even *that* warning isn't enough to express how "Pitch Black" this book is.

There were times, towards the end that my mind drifted a bit.. there were a couple of parts that were unbelievable for me, and a bit redundant. But, they didn't last long and I was back in the house of horrors again. There were many editing and grammar mistakes in this book, but not enough to detract to much from the experience.

I was going to deduct one star from this 5 star read, but I couldn't do it! The book is too good! My gripe: The author makes no mention about this being the first in a series, not even a hint at that fact. So the major cliffhanger ending did not amuse me in the least. But I got over it! There is hope on the horizon with book 2, "White Out" being written. Keep up with the (and look for the YouTube trailer on her closed group page for White Out. It's amazing!).

Stay busy writing Alaska! You don't have any time for breaks, I need White Out! (oh and a blurb here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ would be nice so we can mark it as "To Read" and keep up with a release date!)

This book was quite misleading. I do not think that it falls under the "pitch black" category. I had to dnf at 23%. Normally I wouldn't rate a dnf...but I feel like I need to speak on this book because of the severity of what was lacking. This book could have been great, I was ready for jaw dropping moments...sadly, I was left scratching my head. This book lacked in the story telling. There was no explanations for any actions, the "Slave" was the most pampered "Slave" I have come across in a book. I felt that the Author struggled with the direction of this book. The characters were missing entire chunks to their story that would explain their behaviors and also at times there were behaviors that were so conflicting, that it made my eyes cross.

I wanted depth and didn't even get past my pinky toe. Also, one thing that I really can not tolerate with Author's is when they don't give a reader a chance to discover information on their own. Example, you find out very early on who a certain culprit is, in a very YA sort of way, rather than having this mystery withheld from the readers. That would have created an urgency in me to see who this mystery person was...why the Author spoiled it so soon, I do not understand.

This book was a 1 star because it failed to deliver a well built story. The themes are supposed to be dark, but the writing made it seem more like a YA. This one was a miss for me.

"Death and I are secret lovers. We take turns fucking each other every chance we get. Today, it's my turn to be on top."

This review is short and a shitshow and won't make sense if you haven't read the book or aren't reading the spoiler section, but it's fun for me so I'll keep it like this

I was - THIS - close to a screaming yas queen but unfortunately it was also obvious it wouldn't go the direction I wanted it to.

This book would've been great without the romance. And ehem, the spelling errors. Look, I don't particularly dislike the love interest. Hands down, he's not the most intriguing character out there, but he's alright.

But!!! 👇 extra spoiler alert if the tag doesn't work

Whitlock. A sexual pleasure oasis for the super rich and famous that exists somewhere in the underbelly of mainstream America. Though the actual location is a closely guarded secret, for those who know it's location and are members, it's a place where any and/or all forms of deviant perverted sexual practices can be openly practiced. No laws are ever broken as Whitlock exists outside the jurisdiction of any government. Owner and Main Master Bram Whitlock the only judge, jury, and if necessary executioner.

Abducted at age 10, Slave Vicolette was brought to Whitlock and sold to a Master who has kept her for the past 14 years catering to his every sexual need. When the unexpected happens and her Master dies, Vicolette finds herself stripped of her status and readied to be re-sold as slave 24690 by Whitlock's owner & Main Master Bram Whitlock.

No longer a virgin, 24690 realizes her future is indeed grim until she catches the eye of Master Bram and his closest friend and confident West. Having either of these two men as her next Master could be a blessing or a curse as one has the potential to be her savior while the other her deepest darkest nightmare in the flesh. Either way, 24690 has little control over her destiny... or does she?

Warning: This is a dark erotica suspense-thriller fantasy read that includes graphic erotic scenes that are highly disturbing. It contains BDSM-sadism, dub-non consent, blood, violence, death, and WILL be a trigger for those who are sensitive to non-con sadomasochism scenes & sex trade trafficking. Safe words are never used or addressed. It is written and intended to be enjoyed as a dark fantasy story so only those who can appreciate dark erotica should read this story. Oh, and it ends with a major cliffhanger.
Consider yourself warned.

* * * *

Not often I read a book that leaves me so conflicted.

How can I enjoy a story that glorifies extreme deviant sexual practices without taking up the protest to tar and feather the author? I mean, seriously, this story goes deep. Deep into the bowels of hell where anything and everything is on the table for those who are card carrying members of Whitlock. I don't want to spoil the reading experience for any potential reader so I'm really not going to cite examples. Just know that you better heed the warning labels for this one and know what you're getting into because no amount of bleach is ever gonna be able to clean your brain after reading this story.

Told from alternating POV chapters, the clusterf*ck going on will defy any rational brain to make sense of the evolving story up to the pivotal cliffhanger ending. I'm tempted to seek out the author and threaten her with a bit of what the slaves of Whitlock were getting if the follow up isn't released sooner than later. And. A.A. Dark can't escape behind her other pen name Alaska Angelini as I'm onto her too. In other words, if you've read anything by A Angelini, you have a hint of her writing style already. In this case, she's gone much darker with more thriller/horror scenes for the reader.

Ok. Back to the actual story. 24690 is a slave in an impenetrable fortress. No one has ever nor will ever escape. A slave is there from Cradle to the White Room (Grave). That makes for the freedom by those who are Masters to do whatever they want with their slaves. Nothing is taboo. Think about it. Then prepare yourself to be amazed as the author will blow you away.

Do I really think this is an appropriate story or content to enjoy? Hell no. But. It's fantasy and just as some people praise the works of Stephen King, Bram Stoker, and John Everson, I'll take the A.A. Dark and Cari Silverwood's of this world any day.

So thank you for this wonderful twisted heart racing story that kept me on the edge of my seat (and butt cheeks clenched). The four star (instead of five star which it deserves) is simply because there was no mention of a cliffhanger. I probably would have waited for the follow up if I had known so one star deducted. The follow up which has no release time schedule as of yet by the way.

My overprotectiveness? My temper? My jealousy? I’ve killed for you, slave. I’ve killed for you more times than I’ve ever killed for anyone else. More times than you even know about.

Whitlock, a subterranean fortress was like stepping into heaven and hell. For those looking for pleasure evoked from pain and death, the place was what dreams were made of, just Heaven. For the slaves who were trapped inside, it was a nightmare so horrendous that most found ways to kill themselves to escape the torment within this Hell.

On her 10th birthday Everleigh was kidnapped from her loving family to become slave 24690 within the white walls of Whitlock and was sold to her father's enemy.
Fourteen years later her Master is murdered and she becomes available for re-sale.

Bram Whitlock the Main Master, owner and ruler of Whitlock, with his best friend, West Harper, have been watching and protecting her from the horrendous acts that occur within the white walls. Over the years both men have been surpressing their own personal desires for slave 24690 and they both have their own personal plans for her until betrayal ran high and all bets are off.

I loved this book from the beginning with the powerful prologue from Bram. There's a medieval feel to Whitlock giving me a feeling, where evil ran high. More than once I had to put my iPad away, needing to do something else but failed miserably since I couldn't concentrate on anything and started reading again within 5 minutes. Although, after the strong prologue, I got distracted a lot for the first part of the book. But when you are halfway into the book the gruesomeness starts, with characters lacking any moral compass, whatsoever!

I loved to read how Everleigh grows into this strong woman and by the end I was laughing out loud and so wanted to help her get some with sweet revenge and I beg of you, Alaska, please get me book 2 ASAP!

Bump-Bump, she cries. And again, I cry back. Love me, I plead. Feel me, I beg. I am not without you, and you are not without me. We are together, even if we’re apart.

5 stars for this gruesome story

I was looking for a good DARK story for a while, and I finally got it. I can't believe how much I loved it, even if it was SO disturbing. Well "disturbing" it's really an understatement. But I'm twisted like that.

This is by far the DARKEST book I've ever read. It makes all the other supposed-to-be-dark-stories seem full of rainbows and unicorns.

This was so twisted and dreadful. I don't scare easily, but I almost couldn't handle all the PITCH BLACK surprises the author had in stock.

Even if you do enjoy dark and twisted books, please make sure you read the WARNING: This book contains EXTREMELY disturbing situations, explicit sexual content, and very graphic language. This book EXCEEDS the dark genre and has been classified as PITCH BLACK. May contain triggers for some. Read at your own risk!!

It's my first book by this author and won't be the last. I love Alaska Angelini's pen name: A.A. DARK. DARK indeed.

I really don't want to give too much away so I'll try to be short here. This book is full of unexpected twists and turns and it's best to experience them all on your own. All I can say is that I've never found so many disturbing and shocking elements in one book. Some I haven't even read about, until now.

I really enjoyed the writing, even if there were many editing errors. But I was glued to the pages and so very shocked by the action. Unfortunately it ends with a cliffhanger so I must dive right into the next book. I love books I keep thinking about long after finishing them. I'm sure I will never forget this story.

I feel the need to mention again that this book isn't only DARK and twisted, it's the DARKEST and it's definitely not for the faint of heart. I simply love books that shock me and this one pushed me very far from my comfort zone.

When I first began reading this book, I had quite a few doubts. At 41% I considered putting it down, frustrated by the lack of darkness and depravity. Because other people assured me that the story would improve towards the end, I continued on. During the first 90% of this book there were two impressive, dark scenes but until the very last pages of the book, these two dark scenes were the only dark scenes.

I have read many dark books about sex slavery, auctions etc. yet in 24690 there were some really clever, unique aspect to the storyline that I haven't read elsewhere. I was impressed by the two unexpected plot twists that appeared from nowhere yet like most of the storyline, I felt that those and many parts of the storyline could have spun off into more interesting directions. Although I was somewhat disappointed when things didn't go the way I expected them to, I do have to give Ms. Dark props for delivering material that was completely unpredictable!

In my opinion, the ending was the best part of this book, so climactic that it almost left me wanting more. However, I was beyond frustrated by the time 24690 ended so I will not be reading book #2. In addition to the issues I already mentioned, I was also frustrated because I felt that numerous aspects of 24690 were far from plausible. In addition, due to what I saw as a lack of character development, I didn't feel any emotion towards the characters. Worst of all, the editing was poor with numerous typos and words completely missing from sentences.

Ms. Dark is obviously talented, evident by her ability to create some really unique, disturbing material, but she needs stronger Beta readers and a much better editor. With extra eyes assisting her, Ms. Dark's writing could easily be turned into something truly phenomenal.

Hated Bram because he could never protect Everleigh, keep her in any respects or the way he should have despite loving her for years.

West. He's someone who inspires mixed feelings. An evil coward. Insecure. Second best. Disgusting, but with speckles of yearning to be loved. The honesty somehow was admirable.

Everleigh though strong mentally and physically was an emotionally crippled woman. She carried out her revenge, and I felt proud. Yet there's this constant annoyance about her Bram idolised dream.

This is a dark read. Gory. There's no happiness. Not safe. It felt very long at points and rather boring, but the climax was fantastic. To be continued...

I'm going to need some processing time before I give a full review.

I will say the end hooked me so I had to immediately download the second book in the series.

*Check trigger warnings before starting this series 😬

This was suggested to me and I'm glad I read. It wasn't as dark as I've been hearing (didn't really get dark until the end in my opinion AND THEN IT ENDED--will be reading the next) and while I kinda drifted off in places because the number/names confused me, I really did enjoy it. Sort of reminds me a bit of Pepper Winters, Monsters in the Dark, and as a lover of dark novels, especially when I've read them all, I'll always be open to new.

I don't think it was predictable. The author did a good job of that. I often thought, I know where this is going, then BAM, I was wrong!

The writing is good, I would like to say.
I do think there should be a cliffhanger warning AS THIS IS A HUGE CLIFFHANGER, but I pardoned that really because I actually enjoyed it.

Would recommend to anyone who liked Captive in the Dark, Monsters in the Dark (anything taboo)

5 smashing stars

I didn't end up liking this one. I like reading books occasionally that is more disturbing and shocking but this was just not an plot that worked. Might reread it at some point as I own it and maybe I rate it higher then but for jow it's a meh.

Dark, bloody, and gory!

Dark. Bloody. Gory. Not safe, and not romantic in a traditional sense at all. If you like dark, and I mean so dark that it’s almost on the verge of turning white again it’s so dark.. then this is the book for you. Like if Saw was a romance. Yeah.

I took two stars away because it felt very drawn out at times, and it was too gory for me. I can handle blood, but this was a ton.

I don’t really know how I feel about this one. The first half I wasn’t really into it. The character growth and mindset in Everleigh was crazy beautiful, litteraly. I am going to have to read the second book obviously I need to know what happens next. I can see why some would consider this pitch black and not dark although I can’t explain it but I didn’t find it that dark because I just find it was just more gruesome if anything. But most of the scenes like I could definitely see some people having a really hard time reading this. I did enjoy that there was a lot going on and it seemed fast paced like it didn’t drag on it was one thing after another, I do love that in a book.

One word. Powerful. This story is solid proof revenge is best served with scissors (read the story) and a side of knife! Boom!

This story is an awesome display of humanity at its ugliest. 24690, formerly know as Everleigh, was kidnapped and sold into human slavery as a child. Her story begins in adulthood when her master is found murdered. As a reader, you will see many things. Some things will be ugly, some things will be dark, and some will be pitch black. Ugly or dark, the scenes are written beautifully. Each scene flows into the next seamlessly, and as a reader you experience everything from abuse to complex views of the characters and their demons. Three key players: Bram, the high master, incredibly gorgeous, and a tortured soul. West, Bram's side kick and "I hate Bram because I want to be him" best friend. Last but not least, the slave at the center of the entire clusterf*ck, 24690 or Everleigh. The three together are a walking disaster. Doomed from the start. Destined to betray each other. Who will come out on top? #teamBram?#teamWest? #team24690?

Before you read the first word of this DARK read, consider the following: are you ready to be ripped to shreds? Exposed in ways you can only experience within the pages of this story? Are you ready for the pitch black darkness? This story contains all things related to sexual slavery. No one is exempt in this story. This work of fiction is a literary masterpiece in every way....so can you handle it?

Five stars!

Okayyyy....

I had been convinced by several hyperventilating readers that here I would read the end-all of all tortureporn and mindfucks, that this would be deliciously horrific and sadistic and ventilate my urges.

Unfortunately this was not so. It's the umpteenth clone of various slave/trafficking/mafia erotica with absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. The sex is a dime a dozen (bunga-bunga-bunga), the torture reads like whackamole rounds, there is nothing personal or intriguing and everything is told rather than shown. And told at an arm's length, too.

I will try one other book in that series, but now my hopes are already down.

You play the game, or the game plays you

I have a lot to say about this book but it will probably mostly include a lot of expletives lol. This was just WOW. The author haven't left any corner unexplored when it comes to dark romance. The book description mentions trigger warnings and this being more pitch black than dark ; I would say....take those warnings very very seriously. The crazy, the mind games, the sick shit, and the blood and gore, there is just everything here.

Number 24690 is a slave at Whitlock. Her fate is tied to torment, anguish, toxicity, blood and death for as long as she remembers. With the death of her old master, that fate is going to be redefined but definitely not for the better. What can be worse than that, you ask? Well, you just have to read it here. So I would say pick it up as soon as you can.

I really can't say much about this book without giving it away but....I fucking love Everleigh. That is the name of Slave 24690. She is going to the very top of my book gf list and boy, can she kill any bitch who dares to take her place. This book has the most vile, depraved and crazy shit, you might have heard about, in graphic detail and as much as it will repulse you, you won't be able to help but be attracted to it.

Also, there are Grammatical errors but not enough to make me stop reading it. They were glaringly obvious though, thus the 4.5 stars

And That ending!! I had a huge 'madman' grin on my face the whole time during the last 10 % of the book. I mean, damn!! I wouldn't know whether to propose Alaska or stay out of her way and hide myself if I ever get to meet her. 😂

If you take trigger warning seriously, I recommend it 💯

I don't know even know where to start. This is my first time reading A. A. dark and let me just say I love everything about my first read. I love the pen name, I love the title, I love the cover and most of all I love this crazy dark read.

The story is based in its entirety in the placed called Whitlock. Whitlock is a city within itself, with a governing ruling body, a medical facility, a town center, it's on "police force". It's a distopia for those with very outrageous, twisted fettishes (fettishes might be to tame of a word, but I got nothing else) that can afford to join the community where with the right amount of money they can buy anything and anyone their twisted mind desires.

The book starts with Bram, who is the head Master of Whitlock. What he says goes to the point of his guards exacting his discipline even when it's to one of their own. He has come to notice a particular slave who has him struggling to maintain his separation from the deprevity of those he oversees. Brams right hand man and "friend" from a very young age is West. West comes to want everything Bram has, and will stop at nothing to get it.

24690 is the slave Bram has been watching. She came to Whitlock as a child of only 10 and was bought by her Master. Her Master is suddenly found dead and she finds herself in the middle of the struggle between Bram and West.

This story unravels with so many twists and turns it keeps you guessing. Truly the events of what nightmares are made of. It does end on a cliffhanger and after a very intense scene that is left unfinished.

Head the warnings! Or Not and enjoy this insanely dark read!

I'm not sure how much I like this one. I really wanted to love it. I thought I would love it. Unfortunately, it just wasn't as dark/horror filled as I was hoping. Yes, there were a couple of gory moments but they seemed almost clinical. Reading those scenes, I didn't feel the terror or disgust. Admittedly, it could just be that I've become desensitised and so it takes a lot more to get a reaction out of me.

Most of the action takes place in the last third of the book and I think it came a little too late. By that point I was starting to lose interest, what kept me turning the page was that I wanted to see more of Bram. It was curiosity that made me keep reading. Then, when things finally start to get interesting I get slapped in the face by a cliffy. *sigh*

Editing was an issue that continuously pulled me out of the story, so this influenced readability.

Overall, I'd say I liked it; things did get entertaining towards the end. I would have enjoyed it more if it felt darker - which is largely an it's-not-you-it's-me problem. While this didn't leave a huge impression on me I can understand how others would really enjoy it.

Recommended to those that are looking for something with a little horror/shock factor, albeit one that is delayed. For horror veterans, you may still find this an entertaining read just don't expect it to arouse strong emotions.

A dark, sick and twisted gory sadistic story.
The first half more of a love story with Bram Whitlock and Everleigh slave 24690.
Then the second half all hell breaks loose with West Harper and the dark side comes out to play.
That ending nooooooo if I had known I would of waited. Major cliffy. Not Happy!!!
I really enjoyed it but too many typing errors and I felt it took away the darkness in the story sometimes having to re read the sentence to make sense of what was being said. Hence the four stars. Big hopes for White Out though!
