I have recently found books 2-8 and I've never read the series before. I hate to be the person to ask (but I seem to have trouble finding the first), is it okay if I start with the 2nd book? (I suppose once I find the first I can always go back and read it)

I also bought a random pack, but don't own them all... so when I reread, I cannot do it exactly in order. If I remember correctly, there is a prologue that helps. That said, even in order, the threads of the tale are complex. You will enjoy the reading, which is an experience in itself, but he has multiple threads running through each book.(less)
