The Great Hunt (The Wheel of Time, #2):
I have recently found books 2-8 and I've never read the series before.
I hate to be the person to ask (but I seem to have trouble finding the first), is it okay if I start with the 2nd book? (I suppose once I find the first I can always go back and read it)

No, I suggest reading The Eye of the World first. Try your local library. Mine has the entire series.
