Doug Elwood asked L.E. Modesitt Jr.:

I just finished the first three Imager books and loved them, but will you ever go back to the Rhenn character and finish his story?

L.E. Modesitt Jr. At the end of Imager's Intrigue, Rhenn is effectively the most powerful imager since Quaeryt. He has effectively reformed the Council and strengthened the Collegium. He has masterminded the devastation of Solidar's foreign enemy. There won't be a significant challenge to him or Solidar for decades, if not longer. Any book that followed would either be an anticlimax or would require incredible and improbable convolutions, and I'm not willing to do that.
