I start with a sexual fantasy. However uninspired I might be, sexual fantasies rarely dry up. This guarantees I'm starting from a very personal place - never a bad place to write from - and that I have conflict (or at least some kind of power dynamic). I then layer onto the scene some context, a sense of place or time, character backstories and motivations. Once I've got that, I might delete the sex altogether, but with any luck I'm left with a seedling from which a story can grow.
