I totally agree! It made no sense. Caroline is writing her entire dissertation based on the vial but threw it back. And why the protectiveness over Eliza? Put the whole story out there!

Totally agree, this made no sense. First because it was to be the basis for her dissertation, and secondly because she claims to want to know the truth about history but will not write the truth herself. Just another reason I didn't like her character.
