That's a difficult question, because I don't know your spouse or her writing. In general, from what I've observed, women tend to be somewhat more cautious. This means some good writing doesn't get published. The only thing I can suggest is to take a good section of her work and compare it to an equivalent short section of a published author's work, side-by-side, so to speak. If it's good enough to be published someone else shouldn't be able to tell which is published and which is not.

I loved Haze, specifically the very different political structure on Haze itself. any plans to return to that story/set of characters? I have also read all of the Recluce books and the Imager Portfolio - they are still some of my favorite books, 20 years after I started reading your work.

I just finished reading Mongrel Mage and Outcasts of Order (both wonderful!), and I'm very pleased to learn you have a third book coming out so that Beltur, Jessyla, Lhordaraak, Tulya, and Taelya can reestablished Haven. I have a vague idea or theory, but I wondered if you could tell us more precisely when Beltur's tale fits in the overall timeline or history of this world?
