Alec's Always Bored
Alec's Always Bored asked Hugh Howey:

I just posted a short story on Kindle. I don't think it'll sell a ton of copies but it was important for me to do this, because I love to write and wanted to share it (plus make some money, if not a lot). I was surprised to hear that "Wool" started out as a short story on Kindle instead of a novel. How did it take off? Where you surprised? Did you promote it or did it just happen? Thank you.

Hugh Howey I was very surprised! I didn't do anything to promote the work. It was my 8th published title, and it just spread by word of mouth.
