Jamie Ford:
I worked at the men's prison in Deer Lodge providing mental health services. I graduated from GFHS in 1965, the largest graduating class in MT history as CMR opened the next year. My question is once my manuscript is complete shall I pursue publishing through an agent or self publish? Any opinions?

I would go the agent route first. A great place to start you agent search is agentquery.com. A good agent can get you a good publisher which will allow the widest dissemination and promotion of your work. You can pitch Amazon Publishing as well. They do an amazing job, but are sometimes limited to just the Kindle ecosystem. If those routes don't pan out, then I'd look at self-publishing, or just writing something else. Good luck!

i really don't know how to frame my question... so I'll just tell you that I just finished reading Love and Other Consolation Prices, and WOW! It's hard to find such a book now days that is so enthralling!!! You did a wonderful job capturing the essence of each character. I guess I want to know how you made them come so alive?
